Its true that the Vapor is one of the best of the ultralightwieght indoor fliers. They are fun to just putter around with or can really be thrown about. Some guys are also doing a little indoor combat as well:D

This weekend we tried something new- "Carrier Landings"
We made a little video of us flying like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrOUx3yir3U

We just pulled out one of the benches and then, standing against the wall, we tried to land on our "carrier" It was a lot of fun, as well as gave us something else to do to hone our precision flying skills.

Next time we plan on using 2 of these "carriers" for a combat event-
2 teams of vapor fliers with 2 carriers on either end of the gym, and a Hula-Hoop slung around each of the carriers. The aggressors try to fly through to score a point, while the defenders try to cut the aggressors ribbons (and vice versa)

While both teams have Aggressors, there are also some defenders that protect the friendly carrier. When an aggressor gets his ribbon cut, he can no longer be an aggressor and must fly back to his home carrier to be a defender.
Scoring: (we just made this up, so we will probably refine this the more we play it)
One point for each kill. Once an attackers' ribbon is cut, he can only be a defender
5 points for each successful fly-through the hoop that the attacker makes.

When all attackers have their ribbons cut, the game is over.

We'll give it a try next time we have our indoor event and I will try to update you guys. In the meantime give carrier landings a shot. It's a blast!

We did that here for a while, but with a 3X6 table... Got a lot of respect for trying to land a Vapor on something soooo narrow. Though, at the end, we were landing on the 3ft wide side... Smashed a few props, but definitively worth it.

For people trying it, first, stand in line with your landing strip... Much easier... From the side, and far enough, I could totally miss the table, sometime by a good feet maybe more.

Sounds like a fun combat event! Extra points for flying under the carrier?? :D :D

I've been flying mine in the parking garage, looking for obstacles to fly around. So far the most fun ones are figure 8's around support columns, flying in narrow passage ways(one is about 1.5 times the wingspan), and trying to fly above the exposed pipes for the sprinklers but without hitting the ceiling(VERY hard, about 3" of clearance).

Touch and go's off the sunroof of my car are fun too!

The vapor can be so much fun! I fly mine in the parkade where I live...very low ceilings but lots of pillars to fly around. The roof of my Honda Accord is a challenging place to land for sure.
