But i have never organized events like this so i was thinking if you are interested in helping. First step may be to make a post and see if people are interested?
Count me in for sure, I've been itching to run again this Year, Did not make any events last Year or run for that fact so I really need to get out this Year for sure.
I have been checking out a few places other that that Milner area, Not that its a bad place but I want something smoother and an area that we have or could have more traffic, meaning an area that people may actually stop and check us out, to potentially getting noticed and eventually being able to set up a proper official track or at least lager groups and events...
Ill email you shortly with a few location ideas and I will continue to get permission from the land owners to see if there could be possible interests...
Cheers and Ill get back to you very soon cause I think together we can get this ball rolling...
Hey Rob, as of right now, i have to places in mind (im not sure if it will work). One place is at a school, White Haven JRPS and ther other place is the parking lot outside of national sports/old nofrills. As for the school, its got a pretty big pavement but there might be a little debris/rocks on ground. As for the parking lot, i dont rmb how smooth the surface is, but the area is pretty big.
Ive been using google maps when im not in my car, nice thing about google maps is that you can go right down to street view and look around as first person view.
ive spotted f new areas and will be taking a drive this week to check them out a little better.
at least google maps have updated there maps recently so the ground surface should have not changed much.
We'll have to start posting this email onto the forum and allow people to start viewing it and joining in.. I think all together we can find something and get the ball rolling..

Hello guys! As you can read from the original post by Rob (aka the email between both of us), we are planing on having some meets in 2010. We have been looking at a few areas. What do you guys think of Pavement at White Haven JRPS or Parking Lot at National Sports. Please suggest other areas so that Rob and I may have a look at them. Tell us about theses areas so others can know as well. We hope to get this going in April (unfortunately, i wont be in Toronto until the end of April. However, I hope that we can get this started and have frequent meets in Scarborough! (i barely see meets around the area, all of them are either in durham or barrie) So lets work together and we can get some r/c meets. 1/10 electric or nitro are welcome.

As for scales to run, I would like to open the invite to most scales, 1/16, 1/10, 1/8 and modified off road to street.
I will be running all scales except for 1/5.
I couple of places i have seen which look pretty good for two reasons, the first one is due to the fact that there is no one around to bother by the noise and that during weekends its empty this would be a large multi parking lot east of Rodick rd and Yorkteck this is located north of hwy 407 and west of Warden, simple enough to find hit it up on google maps.
Second location still needs a little work on permission from the local retailers which i will be working on very soon.
Location is just south of Rona which is found on Midland and McNicoll ave.
This location has newly paved surface and being that many other rc tracks are somewhat sponsored by hardware stores, we may be able to get this place to agree as well, Fun thing is that we could get a few spectators too and allow our running to grow.
If we are to run on the weekends I have obtained approval by my work place to use that parking lot, Its location is 480 Gordon Baker Rd, South of Steeles and West of Victoria Park.
I will have pics of the areas posted shortly, but for the time being they can be found on google maps.
03-27-2010, 05:26 PM
oh ya thats awesome, i didnt know u also welcome other scales (excellent choice). Excellent work there with Rodick rd and Yorkteck as its close to First Markham place (I see that there are a few people that are into r/c in markham/north york). As for Rona, its true that alot of clubs are sponsored by Rona (such as DRCRC) so we might be able to contact them. And your work place's parking lot is definitely a good start.
Sorry for letting you do most of the work as im still finishing my term at UW (sigh.. wont be done tile April 23rd last exam). Ill catch up once im back in Toronto
Again Greate Work!
03-27-2010, 05:32 PM
A few other areas also.
Yorkland Rd and Consumers Rd, There is a large lot that is off to the side facing hwy 401 and 404.
Here are some pics of locations.
03-27-2010, 05:45 PM
If you don't mind, i can actually sort broadcast it on 2 facebook groups that i joined for RC in Toronto and refer them to this forum/our thread.
03-27-2010, 05:51 PM
Sure, go for it.
You can add me as a friend and have it linked that way too in case people want to ask any questions which are not members of RCC
search my profile.
the profile pic would be a tweaked out Gray Mazda car...
03-28-2010, 06:51 AM
I'm in, I went to the church a bunch of times last year and nobody ever showed up. :(
I'll keep and eye out for new asphalt. Me and a few buddies have been running beside the new Zellers/old Rona at Warden and Eglington. With that Rona being closed there's not to much traffic and no store owners to complain.
Either way I'm in and prolly 4 other guys to.
03-28-2010, 12:01 PM
Yorkland Rd and Consumers Rd is a write off, the surface is too rough and there are parking gates so no not a good place for smaller scale racing.
Well being that Friday 2nd of April will be a holiday and the weather is going to be good and hot, why dont we all put our heads together and pick a place for a first run, Being that its a holiday we would have an option to run anywhere we want, no store would be open so we would have the chance to run at a new facility with new pavement.
If any of you viewers know of anywhere do please post it and then we can make arrangements to meet.
I have a small portable bbq for dogs and etc..
I have markers, cones, rings etc.... Still looking around for a gas leaf blower to clean the grounds as its quicker than a broom.
Any other easy transportable items are welcome,
We have 4 days to get this in order so lets see what we can come up with,
First task, find a location and time of event
make a list of people that wiill be attending
supplies that are included or needed.
and lets rock.
03-28-2010, 03:50 PM
:x! I wish i can participate, but i highly doubt i can because of exams and wont be back in Toronto until end of april. Please let me no how it went after the event!
03-28-2010, 08:08 PM
Btw, if event is happening, rmb to take some pictures and upload to this thread!
03-28-2010, 09:39 PM
Well drove 100 km within the local area and to tell you the truth, there are two spots that are just awesome, Really really nice.
One of the areas was the posted pic of Rodick rd and Yorkteck, this place is really big, nice thing is that is smooth surface no many hill transitions one single man holes per lot and easily out of the way, huge area to build really fast and technical tracks for both 1/10 and 1/8 scale.
There is also another smaller place but may be busy during the weekends as is looks to be a convention / religion center. I will re-chech it and get some aerial shots of it, Its around 14th and Kennedy. But the Rodick rd and Yorkteck is really a great place and I hope that its not too far out of evberyones way.
Myself Im located in Scarborough, Warden and Finch area so if carpool is required then stuff can be worked out,.
Cheers and good night...

I have just sent a email to Rona sponsorship directory and Hopefully we may hear back from them.
I will keep you posted on all updates and or if a meeting is to be scheduled.
Letter is as follows:
Good day Rona team.
I would like to take a minute of your time in regards to a special request, As you may or may not know, There are a few home improvement centres across the GTA that have opened there doors to sponsorship for remote control racing on there lot during the weekends.
This participation by the home improvement centres allow the public to bring there vehicles to the parking lot at a designated area and race there vehicles.
As you may not be aware but there is a large group of people they not only enjoy the thrill of racing but also enjoy being spectators.
For the past 5 Years within GTA the world of hobby remote control vehicles has rapidly grown into a family sport. Budgets for family sport enthusiasts have set some limitations in regards to recreational fun time, however many have been introduced to racing and remote control sports, This increasing popular pass time has now shown huge potential for everyone to profit from it.
As I would like to keep this short for a intro, this is where we are looking for sponsorship from you and the location 3750 Midland Scarborough ON, M1V 4V3.
We would like to have your permission to set up a short racing track on the pavement at an area that is not subject to much traffic yet still allowing people to visually see the action at the same time keeping safe from traffic going and coming from your centre.
We would be purchasing building and maintenance materials from this location such as wood and cleaning products and ground keeping products.
We are not asking for anything from Rona Canada other than allowing us to build a temporary track on the days that we would have scheduled events. We would however ask for permission to store the products and material that we use to build the track at your facility. The products that we would be using would consist of strips of wood which would include 1" thick by 4" wide by 12' long. This would be used for side walls of the track, Measurements are still on the drawing board as to how many pieces will be required. The overall track size would be approximately 50' by 80' This would be marked off with side walls and a outer wall that would keep the vehicles in and would be a layout for a race track. The vehicles that would be running on it would be power by both electric and or nitro methane ( remote control racing fuel ) the sizes of the vehicles would be sorted by class which would vary from 30mm to 80mm long cars. Each vehicle is equipped with safety features that would not allow the vehicle to loose control and or radio frequency contact. The classes would also be sorted out by not only size but by overall experience, this would allow all to enjoy the service that you are offering. All products and vehicles would be each and everyone responsibility and under no liability by Rona, They would need to meet my general safety standards and no inappropriate behaviour would be tolerated. This whole service that we want to offer is for the general public that enjoy RC to come out and enjoy team sports, to enjoy the thrill of competition and to be able to do it in a safe and controlled environment.
If you are interested in learning a little more and would need field layout Please feel free to contact me via email or at my home number.
If you wish for us to have a meeting in person please feel free to contact me and we can schedule up the time that is convenient for both of us.
Thanks again for your time and interest

Rodick rd and Yorkteck rd definitely sounds like a good place, because it can actually track people's attention (located behind First Markham Place, which operates on holidays and weekends as its a Chinese Mall). The only problem is the permission. It seems like its an open parking lot but we are not sure who owns it and we might require permission. I live in the Agincourt neighborhood and so it depends if my parents will have time to give me a ride or if they let me use the car. So as for April 2nd, plans changed and now i might be able to show up depending on bus schedule back to Toronto.
location - Rodick rd and Yorkteck rd Parking lot
Time: 1-4/5 pm
Class: 1/10 scale electric touring TA05ver2
03-29-2010, 11:37 AM
I doubt that this place gets used up by clients for the First Markham place as its still a good walk away. Its more likely to be used by the buildings that are just north of it which seam to be offices or a folks home..
Again seams to be just you and I Resound that have been posting so unless we get a few more included I wouldn't make a special bus trip as it would not be worth all that time.
As I said, I have contacted Rona Canada for sponsorship through there contact email however will be communicating directly with this Rona location to see if we can get the ball rolling. So yes I know many of us are very eager to run but its still very early and lets focus on doing it right.
03-29-2010, 03:15 PM
If approval goes through, here would be the layout area for the track(s) I would be requesting both short truck offroad track ( no huge jumps ) but more or less a auto corss track and a onroad technical 1/10 1/8 street track.
Lets keep the fingers crossed and hope that Roana Canada and Rona Midland would grant this area and support our addiction to RC racing.
03-29-2010, 03:33 PM
Ya, lets just hope that the area is granted because the location is definitely better than Parking lot behind First Markham Place. In addition, its a more 'organized' meet. So I assume that event on April 2nd wont happen unless we can get minimum of 4-5 people.
03-29-2010, 04:21 PM
Don't a bunch of guys from driftercentral already race at Midland Rona? I believe they go on Friday nights although I've personally never been.
I'm good for Friday from 8am till around noon where ever it happens.
03-29-2010, 04:28 PM
Pharcyed, will your friends be interested in for friday event as well?
03-29-2010, 10:16 PM
Just a quick FYI.
this is my list of vehicles that are on my shelf which I will be running this year since i had to thin down the pack a lot....
1/8 Ofna DM-One Spec
1/8 Ofna Pro modified two speed
1/10 Team Magic G4S with LPR.12Z spec IV
1/16 Micro street brushless Lipo
I will be looking at a HPI sprint 2 Flux to be electric powered 1/10 scale for you guys...
But since I have been running my DM-One well its hard to go back to anything else....LOL
03-30-2010, 04:19 AM
I will Email some people today and let them know.
03-30-2010, 09:12 AM
That would be excellent!:D
03-30-2010, 09:20 AM
Here is also another suggestion for a short fast technical track, The pictures does not do any justice as it was newly paved last year 2009.
Its a open to public parking and its so rare i have ever seen someone in this area. I pass by on a daily basis on my way to work, I have ran there is a 1/10 scale car and it was ample of room to open it up.
This could be a temp place that is more centred and within Scarborough itself. There are a few locations in that area to get a bite to eat and drinks etc....
Location: Pharmacy and McNicoll
ALL WE NEED TO DO NOW IS VOTE ON A SPOT FOR THE FIRST MEET AND INTRO....
03-30-2010, 10:24 AM
Lol, Pharcyed, lets hope your friends will be available so we have more people. (i should get my bus ticket soon if we are meeting on April 2nd LOL) N e ways. For our first meet, i have changed my mine and Pharmacy and McNicoll would be a good temp place, (closer compared to Woodbine and Hwy 7). Time preference is pretty any time during the day (sadly, i got nothing to do except for this and study for final exams)
As for intro, Im not too sure what Rob means by 'INTRO' lol.
03-30-2010, 10:56 AM
In addition, i need some suggestion. Whats a good store to get Tamiya Parts (cheap and 'good' services). Ive been to Advance Hobbies, they have very nice staff but the price is pretty high. Asking this cuz im planning on doing some upgrades with my ta05 lol.
03-30-2010, 11:35 AM
All depends on what you need and how far your willing to travel.
you could always pay cash with Advance and chat with the owner for some assistance as long as you buy there often and in large qty....
Other than that, I always stick with my one and only place... AJ Hobbies. Arden and I go way back and well not only is service great but once you get in and start volume orders then you may be able to negotiate price too.
Best thing to do is grab your prices from other Canadian retailers and use this as a ref point if your stores are too high... You can talk pricing if you have some proof in your hands....
Its not always about pricing, its more about who has what in stock at the time you need it..
But if you are to place a large qty of pieces on order, I suggest that you go through Arden at Advance hobbies... You can use me as a ref. Just make sure to pay cash and let him know that I sent you to him cause he would assist you. Again It may take some time so don't expect any awesome deals on your first purchase, You have to build a constant order system with him....
03-30-2010, 03:37 PM
hi rob.. thanks for pm'ing me... still have my ntc3, haven't run it since we had those friday nights fun..ya man count me in.. that milner ave at the church was great, parking lot was elevated and there was a good hump were our car would get airbourne... also check out u of t parking lot at military trail..
03-30-2010, 05:12 PM
Let's do it!
I am at yonge and finch area and would be nicer if it was closer to me, but I'd come out as long as I am not busy with school or working. Can we meet saturday evenings? I work till 6 unfortunately...
10th scale electric onroad for me
03-30-2010, 05:30 PM
So it sounds like it might be possible for April 2nd meet !! lol
Name: Herbert (Resound)
Intro: student at university of waterloo
Location: Pharmacy and McNicoll
Time: ill be free pretty much the whole day
class/vehicle: 1/10 Electric on-road
I guess the people that might be interested (April 2nd and other events):
- Pharcyed (possible his friends?)
- Super Steve
Lets have a vote on location, time (for April 2nd)and have a little intro about themselves? If we can get this running this week, we can talk face to face about later meet time and location XD
PS I know i sound a little too eager lol
03-30-2010, 07:22 PM
Im Rob Dyer aka Nitroheli
Born UK, lived in Qc for 24 years been in TO for the past 10
work for a awesome motorsports company
only ran nitro rc vehicles from helis, planes to bikes.
have no electric cars but may have to buy one for you guys...
1/8 scale class is my fav.
no points for second place and second place is first place looser... lol
looking forward to hitting the track with you guys but may be a little hard cause i only have nitro cars.... Ill call Arden at AJ to see if he has a sprint 2 flux..
I vote for Pharmacy and Mc Nicoll for the friday meet, there are many locations within that close area if we need move around.. Keep in mind that Friday everything will be closed so if there are newly paved locations ( shops ) lets hear about them..
03-30-2010, 07:45 PM
LOl rob, every 2 laps u get equals one lap of our EP cars lol
03-30-2010, 08:49 PM
Ouch, why are you being so mean, I know i haven't ran in 1.5 years but I think it would be more realistic if you said for ever 1 lap you guys do i'de be doing 3.5 untill i get back in the game....
Oh Yeah there will be a whole lot of teasing and buggen.. thats what its all about, a bunch of guys running fast cars, snacking on BBQ cooked food and a whole lot of laughs...
All we need is a few beers and a couple of pit girls and we would be in heaven....
well back to rc searching for me, i need to find a ep car...
03-30-2010, 09:00 PM
nah lol, nitro car > EP car for speed + laps. so ull be lapping us, so divide ur laps by two would be 'accurate' :p
03-30-2010, 10:57 PM
What kind of nitro car do you have?
I thought brushless is up to par with nitros as far as track speed is concerned in 10th scale?
03-30-2010, 11:07 PM
in fact most times electric is faster due to weight and instant torque...
but still doesnt stop me from puching a few buttons and teasing a few guys....lol
ill have my Team magic g4s 1/10 and my 1/8 Dm-One spec
There ill be a good mix of all size and power types from all the people i have been chatting with....
McNicoll and Pharmacy will be the starting point I guess.
Lets say start showing up around 11 am.. Ill be there around that time or early to start setting up the track.
Ill sketch it tomorrow and post it so you will be able to get an idea...
03-30-2010, 11:29 PM
friday 11am is a little too early for me.
Right now my 8.5T motor has the rotor stuck somehow last time I used it so I'd have to install the 21.5T I was saving up for VTA class. and that would be turtle slow... So I might as well buy some drift tires since its not gonna be exciting
On Friday, I can come by anytime between 2:30pm and 5:30pm or anytime after 9ish (useless unless location has lights)
How many battery packs are you guys gonna be bringing?
03-31-2010, 04:19 AM
I like McNicoll and Pharmacy, it's not to far from me. I have 3 1/10 on-roads I can bring, 1 nitro, 1 brushless and 1 brushed. I can be there anytime in the morning but I have to go visit the family around 3pm
03-31-2010, 07:39 AM
Same here, have that turkey dinner waiting at 5 - 6 pm so thus why i was goaling for mid noon time. I think a good 4 hours of running would be more than enough for the first meet.
Most times its never past this amount of time.
Ill be heading there for around 11 am to sweep the lot and start marking it for a track layout.
So lets just hope that the weather keeps up and that i see a few of you there.
Ill have my
1/10 nitro, 1/8 sedan and 1/8 street converted buggy. chargers, bbq, pilons, tubes, and markers. if you have any items that can asisst to lay out a track bring it along..
03-31-2010, 09:37 AM
Im fine all day, LOL but im running :mad:black can:mad: motor so => LAPPING LMAO. N e ways, im bring only 2 packs cuz thats all i got XD. If Super Steve can come at 11ish will be great
03-31-2010, 03:13 PM
Don't worry Resound, my TT-01 has a stock motor in it so we should be around the same speed give or take.
My brother in law is coming too, not sure what cars he's bringing though.
03-31-2010, 04:35 PM
Oh ya! thats awesome lol tamiya ftw lol. and yes! more people lol
Hey i was thinking of bring a camera for group photo + filming some of the races !! XD so that we can upload to this thread and possibly use it for Rona sponsorship?
03-31-2010, 04:47 PM
no car to be found that meets my requirements.. lol I know if a little store that sells RTR china made street bangers I my just pick up that little toy for now....the motor in them is a 540 so i think that is similar to the TT01-E... but still will not stop me from running my nitros, Im trying to get a main competitor to bring is 1/8 inferno GT2, them two large cars on this track will just rock...
I did run a electric tt01 a few times last year at this area and i can tell you that the wheels squeaked during the turns...
I just stopped at the lot this evening to see how much cleaning needs to be done and see how the pavement reacted through the winter,.. Well I can tell you that its as good as new, its like it was just paved last week, So all is a go !!!!! super clean and super smooth....
OH BOY ITS GONNA BE FUN !!!!!
03-31-2010, 06:34 PM
i'll be there at pharmacy and mcnichol, friday april 2 @ 11am. bringing my tt01 and m04L.
03-31-2010, 06:36 PM
Well, i am now powered up with a cheapy 1/10 scale electric buggy, So this way it will be somewhat fair. not that I will not run my nitro cars too, but at least ill run the electric car and promise to run it stock right out the box...
Its direct with a supplier i know for imported overseas rc's.
If ever any of you want any toss around cars , planes, helis, boats just send me a note.
Ill leave the surprise for you on Friday, but yes keep in mind its only a 200.00 car...
03-31-2010, 09:10 PM
hobby hobby at yonge and steels have HPI e10 drift RTR for 209.99 (even included a 1500mah batt and a slow slow wall charger)
Anyways, I guess I cant make it since People are meeting around 11 and by the time I get there, your batteries will be drained.
The reason I cant make it before after 3ish is because I have to attend family/friends BBQ for lunch. :(
Anyways, I guess I will wait until next meet.
(unless, you guys wanna meet again the next day (saturday?) afternoon, if the lot has lights, we can meet around 7pm and race/fiddle for couple hours)
04-01-2010, 09:01 AM
sigh.. that sucks lol. Next time for sure. Im not too sure about the next day and i will have to see how it goes after friday XD. Cant wait to see the track layout lol. Weather is gonna be nice tmr, 20+ in the afternoon!
04-01-2010, 09:27 AM
Sorry Guys, been busy at work....
here is my general design for track, its fun, fast and still very simple build, dont want it too hard for the first few times, we are here to have fun...
The pics of the location do not do justice, They look bad on the pics but the place is really really nice...
04-01-2010, 12:34 PM
Is this only for onroad electric? Can an offroad nitro join in?
04-01-2010, 12:56 PM
if you wish to join in , run what you bring,. It open to all. There will be all sorts of vehicles and classes. There are no jumps as its a street track only.. But run what you got...
We are there to have fun... Come out and play... Its all about a bunch of guys hanging out and having fun
04-01-2010, 01:29 PM
Ya come on out, its gonna be fun (more ppl = more fun) XD
04-01-2010, 06:59 PM
Ok so here's what I'm bringing out with me.
Brushless Mini Revo
1/18 brushless truggy
Brushless Xray T1 EVO2
Kyosho FW-06 nitro
My Brother in law should be bringing.
Brushless Mini Revo
04-01-2010, 09:45 PM
So this is gonna be friday? time? Im guessing 11 am? My ride is gonna be revo 3.3 and my son will be driving his mini revo brushless. Cant wait!
04-01-2010, 10:24 PM
Well, all my vehicles are ready, ill be heading over to the location in the morn to give it a final cleaning,, I ran out tonight and bought a strong leaf bower and this should do the trick for final clean, If any of you have a broom it would be good to bring it just in case.
Ill be at the lot around 10:30 so looking forward to meeting you all and getting a few lap times in...
Looks like there will be a good amount of guys running all sorts of vehicles, so we will have to make sure no one kills anyones frequency,... and at the same time we will be able to sort all the runners out as groups...
04-01-2010, 10:31 PM
oh shoot! my son's mini revo is using no.4 frequency! I don't even have any extra with me.
04-01-2010, 10:35 PM
I can bring a couple sets of crystals if anyone needs them.
04-02-2010, 12:03 AM
me too, ill have all sorts of stuff. even a portable little BBQ, so who's bringing the dogs and buns... lol its that or we all pitch in for a pizza run at lunch... LOL
Cheers and see you all a little later... Not like im gonna get much sleep being already 1AM, still cycling batteries and a few tweaks here and there...
04-02-2010, 01:37 PM
nice to meet u guys today, it was really fun! Next meet i'l bring my nitro rs4 and maybe a few other people too.
04-02-2010, 01:57 PM
Nice meeting u guys. Even i wasnt able to run and a broken mini revo of my son, it was worth the bash just meeting u guys. For sure will join you guys again.
04-02-2010, 05:35 PM
Had a blast today, looking forward to the next one. Maybe next Saturday? Same time and place?
To answer some questions people had.
Check out these links
04-02-2010, 07:44 PM
Yes we had some fun laps together as a group, much better when we have more people, hopefully we can get a good group next weekend. Ill work on a track design that will be equal to both nitro and electric runners. The track will consist a few short cuts for the electric runners that are not running brushless lipo''s and the nitro guys like myself will have to get a little quicker in order to do a full track lap and keep up with the rest at the same time....
By all means, if any of you know of places that are smooth running surfaces and in the area jot them down.
Im open to anywhere and love the company...
04-02-2010, 07:50 PM
Oh and a quick note... I cant recall who said it but one of you stated you have some long large diameter rope, if you could bring some that would also be good.
Anyone who has brushes that would be good too, the leaf blower is ok but between heats a brush would be good...
If you recall where the rope can be purchased other than homedepot due to high costs do let us know, Maybe everyone can pitch in a pick some up.
As you saw the items I had, now think how great it would be if everyone brought some track stuff it would be just awesome...
I will also keep you all posted on any updates I get in regards to sponsorship from Midland Rona center,...
04-02-2010, 10:04 PM
Awesome day today! had a blast, hope to see you guys again soon!!
04-03-2010, 07:46 AM
I already have around 400' of 3/4" rope that I will bring next time we go out. I also have about 20 track dots and some other gear I can donate to the cause.
04-06-2010, 02:32 PM
The Rona track sponsorship request fell through, Even if they had shown some interest in the planning and events they can not and will not grant permission for us to run weekend events on the parking lot at Rona McNicoll and Midland location.
So either we continue to request permission at other locations for sponsorship or we end up doing like what most guys do and run in secret until we are caught and forced to move..
This coming weekend looks to be some what sunny but a little chilly. However the Weather man is never right LOL... I guess we will keep in touch as the week progresses and confirm just before the end of the week as to who is going where...
04-07-2010, 12:24 AM
Hello, My friend is planning to buy a tt01 kit. I was wondering if anyone in the area have a RTR radio+reciever to sell for cheap.
Please let me know, thanks
04-07-2010, 08:54 PM
Here is a toss around TX and RX for real cheap and in the Scarborough area.
04-07-2010, 09:36 PM
Here is a toss around TX and RX for real cheap and in the Scarborough area.
i actually picked them up today
04-09-2010, 08:29 AM
So my friends, Any plans on running this weekend ??, Sunday looks to be somewhat of a nice day, a little chilly but at least some sun would be shining in Scarborough. If any of you are planning on running, let us know where and when... I would like to come out and join you all for a few hours...
04-12-2010, 11:21 AM
should we tried to make a standard so that everyone can build accordingly?
Say we make Blah company blah pattern blah compound the standard.
If I need to purchase new set of tires, I would just get the club standard instead of trying to diviate.
I really like RCGT, but the majority rules I guess.
21.5 or 17.5 motor
any realistic body (no stratus, dna3 etc)
some sort of tire limit (X pattern d compound?)
Please voice your opinion on having a base to standardize equipment?
We could have much closer racing I think, even though its still fun. I am not sure how far people's cars were apart interms of speed and grip since I wasnt able to make it last time.
04-12-2010, 07:45 PM
Super_Steve, Not that its a bad idea but I think the first thing we need to do is to try and find a place that is central to everyone where people will be consistent and show for the day. right now we had it going on the right track and we had a few that showed up on the first run, then well its died out and no show after that, This is not a way for a group to get serious within the Scarborough region and well it could make potential future track supporters loose interest, thus why maybe there is not an official track in Scarborough, Im not trying to diss this post and I have not yet given up on RC racing, cause its in the blood...
Nothing more than i would want is a official track in Scarborough and I continue to find something that would just be that ultimate wow factor that we all look for...
In regards to standardizing the motors and wheel and etc,, well we might as well call it Tamiya 2 club... I think that once people come out of the bushes and actually start showing up to meets and pass the word around we may be able to get enough people that can run within each others level, Myself I do not have a racing electric car and well right now I ran out and got myself a couple of 1/5 gassers cause the group of guys in Markham seam to have it well layout and consistent in regards to weekly meets.
Nothing more that i would love to run both groups but my main goal is to run... so until
some of the local guys start to get a little more serious and willing to run, ill just have to play where the guys play and right now its the 1/5..
Cheers and do keep posting...
It just bugs me that I have so many people that had read this post but yet too shy to post on here and or a small intro...
LET US KNOW YOUR OUT THERE AND ANY INPUT IS WELCOME>>>
04-12-2010, 08:06 PM
Being that I mentioned 1/5 scale, i thought I would also share this just in case any of you show also some interest in joining the dark side... uh mean 1/5 scale side....LOL
There is a new place in town , ok more or less in the GTA that offer 1/5 scale awesome deals on big bad block gassers...
This product line that this guy is using for Canadian market is Red Cat Racing
So if any one you within Scarborough region that want a big scale racer but want to keep the budget withing living standards you shoud check this place out...
Best thing about the service is that you dont have to run around and order through USA suppliers. Its a local guy.... LOL Woohoo...
I have been dealing with this place now and so far Im very pleased with both lead time and pricing... Makes buying my replacements a whole lot less frustrating......
anyone of you that shows interest and or who buys a vehicle post it here and then we can all start getting the group up larger and also go run with the big boys up in Markham region...
04-12-2010, 08:49 PM
I would love to show up, but unfortunately I won't be back until end of April. It's true that in order to get these meets running, people will have to show up more often, but I do understand that many people have different activities planned for the weekends (like myself, i didn't show up for past week). So I hope that people can check on this forum more often. In fact, for the next meet, we can get some sort of contact information from each person, emails or phone number or neither if you don't feel comfortable sharing the information.
As for the location, i think pharcyed did mention something about zellers parking lot? or the parking lot of the company that he worked for? Maybe we can discuss what the best location in our next meet or possible on the forum.
04-12-2010, 09:04 PM
I will agree on that one, any new places or something different and or multiple location tryouts would not be a bad idea...
In regards to a general mailing, I can handle that if need be..
You can PM me with your info and Ill create a contact list and then send out a general email for all details or we can just keep posting here both ways work for me...
04-12-2010, 09:28 PM
OK, I have just created a email account for this purpose. If you wish to send me a quick email so that I can start creating a mailing list. Just give me your name, location and your primary rc vehicle and TX type. Ill add you in and then can start on meeting lists or updated info as to when and where the next run is expected to be.
rc race specific email:
email@example.com that is Nitro RC GTA ( Yes that includes EP cars too !! LOL )
04-13-2010, 08:21 AM
I'd be interested in coming out on some weeknights as my weekends are full! I have a Baja 5B SS, 1/8 nitro trucks, buggies, and cars, yes, even electric. I also run electric and nitro drift cars, as well.
Hopefully, if timing is good, I'll make it out...
04-13-2010, 09:08 AM
Once exams are over, I can pretty much come out any night unless I have previous plans. (i am not free on saturday until 6:30 tho)
04-13-2010, 09:10 AM
Can we have our next meet on the 24th of april? (Saturday)
04-13-2010, 11:20 AM
Just to give you all a quick heads up, At the Pharmacy ad McNicoll location looks like there will be some construction going on, As i drover by it this morn I saw huge skids of pipes and some other materials so I can be on teh safe side and say that this place may be out for some time but will keep you posted, From what im guessing I think they are planning to expand this lot as during Friday nights and weekend nights it becomes packed to the brim of cars.. So if they expand it and well place again new ashphalt well all I could say is Woohoo !!!
So for the time being, I think we need to find a new location, I do know if a nice place also in Markham which is Kennedy and 14th area, Its raised land and new black ashpault, This is a nice place as I had ran there many times with the Nitro's....
But do feed your input to any other areas..
Jiver, being said that you also run 1/5 scale.. where about do you run, have you ever checked out the Markham location ?? Markham bypass road and Hwy 7, I heard there is a large group of racers there too... Im looking forward to running there soon...
04-13-2010, 11:43 AM
I just got into 1/5 scale last year or so? Since the Baja is very loud, I run where ever there is open space with minimal houses and people, just to be safe and to cause as little noise and trouble as possible. Later tonight, I will be heading to Pickering to run my Baja and also be flying my planes!
I have yet to check out the Markham Road/Hwy 7 area group. Would like to check it out one day. As mentioned, I am full on the weekends, so, the only time I have is any spare time on some weeknights! Gotta work to pay for the RC parts!
04-13-2010, 03:20 PM
Always keeping an eye out for new places. Nitroheli don't worry, well get something going soon. I've talked to a few other guys and they want to come as well. I think it will take some more consistently nice weather to bring out the crowds.
So who's going out to run and when???????
Let me know.
04-13-2010, 07:47 PM
Im down for April 24th day or night. The first few meets will hard to get ppl together but once it gets rolling, it will be fine. Ill keep an eye on new places as well.
5197293829(txt only otherwise it will be and long dis call)
ps: haha super_steve, got exams as well? i got 3 more to go lol (1 for tmr sigh..)
04-14-2010, 02:16 PM
Im not too sure if you guys are meeting this coming week April 16-18. But for sure we should have one on April 24th.
I assume most people wont be free in the morning(late morning) or in the afternoon on a saturday. So im guess we will have a meet on the 24th near night time? We have two problems to figure out before the 24th.
Location - As Rob mentioned, theres some construction going on at Pharmacy and McNicoll Ave Parking lot (where our first meet happened). In addition, even if there was no construction, considering that its at night time, lighting would be a problem.
To be short, if no construction and its day time, meet will be at Pharmacy and McNicoll. Else we will need new location with lighting (and obviously smooth surface)
Here is a list that ill do some update on (people will be the ones who showed up last meet/posted before):
Date: April 24th
Time: 1-5pm in between (lets vote and see what time everyone prefers)
Location Midland and Mcnicoll plazas
- Dave (Sean, if you can ask him, that will be great)
- Super_steve (available only after 6:30pm)
- stock5efe (prefer daytime)
- evofreak(not sure)
-barok (not sure)
Let me know if you are interested, ill add you to the list
04-14-2010, 04:11 PM
As I stated earlier, that current location McNicoll and Pharmacy is out of the question, its full of debris from the construction that is happening down that road. there is dirt and all sorts of garbage all over that lot..
So no choice we will have to find another place since the lot will not be cleaned up for some time,, they are working on Pharmacy all the way up from that lot....
Being that most of you are south of Finch ave I suggest we find somewhere around that area unless you want to head up to Kennedy and 14th.... There is a Tim's just before the train bridge on kennedy and 14th ave, you turn on that Tim Hortons road and travel 150meters west, you will find a conference centre or a building, there is a step up of grass and well that makes a pretty good overview of the lot.
Other than that, there is a full empty lot that was paved 1.5 Years ago which can be found on McNicoll and just west of Midland.. There is a Rona and a new plaza the lot is in that plaza area and is well laid out and lights, but being that the plaza is still not yet occupied im not sure if the lights go on at night.. ill take a drive one night this evening and see how the condition is and what it looks like at night time....
If any of you need specs and info on how to make LED light kits that work off of a square 9v battery just shoot me a note and ill tell you what you need and where to get it, its a simple task and well works great..
04-15-2010, 04:39 PM
i can come out for the next meet. I think the morning would be better than the evenings, as there would be more sunlight and most people go out in the evenings on the weekends.
04-19-2010, 08:51 PM
Looks like its gonna be one of those summers again, nice throughout the week and rain on weekends !!!, Damn where are you, you RC Gods... Show us a sign of light !!!! LOL
Well lets see how this weekend looks and I guess we will give a short update before the weekend hits us, would be nice to get out again very soon !!!
anywhere down south of Scarborough ?? or there is always Midland and Mc Nicoll at the plaza in front of Rona...
04-21-2010, 07:36 AM
seems like its gonna rain during the weekend. If it does rain, then our meet will be pushed til next week or so. As for location, i'm cool with Midland and McNicoll. As for time, i prefer afternoon/daytime. But IF we everyone agrees with nighttime, i cool with that as well.
04-22-2010, 08:15 PM
what time you guys going to the rona plaza? saturday isn't raining.
04-23-2010, 03:35 PM
I'm good for a bit of racing Saturday anytime. Let me know.
04-23-2010, 05:18 PM
So as of rite now, i think we have 4 people confirmed.
Myself, Sean, Rob and Stock5efe. Will that be enough people or we should reschedule so that we get more people?
04-23-2010, 08:10 PM
I dont know guys, being just the 4 of us, we might as well until the weather is a little warmer and that we had a few good rain falls to wash the ground good...
Ill be busy breaking in a new off roader mod day but will pop by in the afternoon to see if anyone is around... if anything I think the afternoon would be best at least the temp would warm up a little more cause anything before 2pm, you looking at only 15 degrees and breezy...
If anyone that has read this post and wants to attend do please reply..
04-24-2010, 01:27 AM
I might have to change my plan, i wont be able to show up tmr because apparently ive got some highschool reunion thing going on with my friends. But i'm 90% that i will be able to make it nxt week at the plaza opposite of rona.
04-24-2010, 03:36 AM
It appears I spoke to soon, I got called into to work so all my plans have changed.
04-24-2010, 07:52 AM
Well, its still April, once the nice weather hits and the days get longer Im sure that all our time will be better scheduled.
Next weekend so far looks to be nice.
Ill be in for next weekend and i know a few that will also attend with me.
Ill have all the track stuff, ill have a portable bbq, ill try to get a few other items as long as the day turns out nice, portable table, fold stools, canopy tent. etc...
Ill get a soft brush and bring that too being doesn't look like we are gonna get any good rain falls to wash away the spring dust,..
Ill be driving by the place today and see what condition it is in and grab a few snap shots..
we can all discuss throughout the week and make this plan work...
We can start it mid afternoon and run until dark..
I only have nitros left....
Any newcomers please post...
04-24-2010, 09:29 AM
Ill come out for a couple of hours. Its too nice to sit at home!!!!
04-24-2010, 10:52 AM
so is anyone going to the rona plaza today?
04-24-2010, 02:03 PM
being 3pm i think its out for me... :-( just got back from taking the wife and kids shopping !!! and now getting ready to go eat...
I will be running for sure next weekend Sat or Sun is good for me even if i have to run alone... drove by the lot today, there is construction happening on the field between this lot and Rona so we'll have to bring something to swipe the little dust that is on the lot but looked pretty clean, Ill be driving by it again tonight to see how bright the lights shine at dusk.. may be interesting to run closer to late afternoon to evening, i think many guys can make it out when its later....
Cheers and please keep in touch....
If any of you also like to offroad and or dirt jump bashing, there has been 5 new loads of dirt that was just dropped off at Kidtown park, you need a true off road 1/8 however,,,, Location,, McNicoll and Birchmount. Its in a park and just south of the water park splash pad...
04-28-2010, 02:30 PM
You can count me in this weekend if you go out rob let me know and i'll come forsure just let me know when and where!
04-28-2010, 06:45 PM
If you wish to play a little off road.
Kids-town is a public site, kind of like a picnic park, there are always guys around, ive been buy when people have been bashing etc....
I hope to head there this weekend with my son to hit few jumps....
Other that there, i found another neat little area that would offer both jumps, a small track with some serious climbing..lol
this is on the new street that connects Warden and Kennedy which is just north of hwy 407.
Its just before the underpass of the train tracks, if going that ways towards kennedy road you look to your right you will see a large grass hill but the other side of it has been dug away and well there is a large somewhat of a dirt flat area and then there are a few truck loads of dirt that create a kind of plateau.
But Birchmount and McNicoll is also a great spot being close, but its mainly grass and dirt.. but one can easily make a decent track too...
05-14-2010, 05:36 PM
Looks like a nice weekend, who's going out to run?
05-14-2010, 07:07 PM
I would be up for Sat evening or Sunday anytime if any of you are up to it.. Can do both on road or off.. Your call....
Sat daytime I will be out of town but should be back around 5pm or so...
05-15-2010, 02:07 PM
Ahh, I am out of town this weekend... weeknight, perhaps?
05-15-2010, 07:50 PM
you and I will need to hit some dirt with our Bajas !! I just ran mine today for the first time... Was up in Barrie with a bud and ran into a huge sand pit so I just had to give it a try.. was nice for the first run... Not yet sure if I like 1/5 scales yet compared to my 1/8's !! LOL
well let me know if ever you want to meet up.
05-15-2010, 08:16 PM
Give the Baja a chance; you will appreciate the size and convenience! I still run my 1/8 and 1/10 scale nitros! I ordered the steel gears for the Rampage, should be here next week. I have also upgraded the two centre diff dogbones, again, just waiting for arrival. Will also be installing an engine remote kill switch and upgrading the stock battery as well.
Looking forward to running with you... let's hope the weather cooperates!
05-15-2010, 08:51 PM

Rob where do i find this sand pit in barrie? Looking for sand pit to play in gta and barrie area? Any google map? Thanks
05-15-2010, 09:07 PM
The pit in Barrie was right beside my friends house, intersection on google map would be.
Big Bay point Rd and Royal Parkside dr. go to the end of Royal Parkside Dr and it will be behind the park you see, walk through the bushes and there it is... Not bad of a place enough to open up the Baja for a long time.... plus there are nice sandy hills and a few wicked jumps, Had the baja hitting 6 foot airs... Pretty rock solid buggy....
Being that your in the North York. Im sure there are a few good places also just east of the hwy 404 and north of Elgin mills and between 19th.... Should take a small drive and see what that area is like, its all new commercial construction zone, im sure there are a few beating places around there...
Here is scarbough area, the closes decent place i found would be at an area called L'amoreaux park south, just south of Mc Nicoll and on Birchmount. You will see a water park splash pad, well just south of that 50 meters you will see a picnic area and a few good dirt hills and well thats a fun quick local area to hit a few jumps, I have not yet been there this Year, when i do go i bring a shovel and fine tune the area so well you would know when i had my fun if you ever go... it would be laid out nicely...
05-17-2010, 09:06 PM
Hey guys, its been a while since last time i post, been pretty busy with my new co-op job. So i was checking out areas for suitable on-road racing places. I found a place that is, i would say at least to me, AMAZING. Its at 7030 Woodbine Ave. I took so pictures, its got a wide area and a platform (got stairs as well). If you find the ground to be too rough, u can always racing on the platform.
If anyone is interested for THIS COMING WEEKEND or friday night, please let me know, ill try to organize something if weather is good (plus side, its a long weekend).
05-17-2010, 09:09 PM
Here are some more pictures. I went this weekend and it seems like there are no securities or anyone that will kick us out. Its pretty quiet during the weekends, only a few cars.
05-17-2010, 09:47 PM
WOW, looks pretty darn decent to me.. Im in for Friday ! ill pass the word around tomorrow with my work guys ill see if they want to tag along too...
Nice being tables and stairs... good parking lot and can keep the real cars aside.
Yep, im in... Friday anytime after 6pm, that would give us around three hours of run time..
Cheers and lets all stay in touch
05-17-2010, 09:53 PM
Well, 2 problems for friday night might be :
1. not enough lighting (but 6-8 should still be pretty sunny)
2. not 100% sure if all the cars will be gone by that time, for sure its empty on the weekends cuz ive been there during weekends. If anything happens, i might check in tmr or wednesday around 6-7 and see if cars are still there. (If someone can do this as well, that would be great)
05-17-2010, 10:03 PM
Yeah, i work two mins from there, Ill pop by tomorrow evening and take a look to see how it is.. You never know. even if it falls on a weekend or Monday holiday, it would still be a pretty neat new place, I like the fact that you can run up the stairs and well its your very own driver stand !! way awesom to race when you 1 floor up... I raced all winter that way...
05-19-2010, 08:14 PM
Didn't get a chance to take a look on weekday nights for the past 2 day. Last chance tmr to visit, hope no OT tmr n i get to go take a good look. BTW, if this goes well, we prob need to get some material to build the track.
05-19-2010, 10:49 PM
I may show up...?
05-19-2010, 10:50 PM
Ill head over tomorrow right after work so that means i would be there at 5pm, this would give us a good idea... i would try and see if i can head out again around 6 but that would depend on the boss. Wife...lol
For now, I have the cones, discs and hoops, Not sure if any of you have heard of roadrails. well in a short form, they look like blinds in a way but made of flexable strong abc plastic...
It would be interesting to see if something is available from blinds'to'go that is similar, Would be neet to grab one and give it a few beatings to see how long ot could last... cause roadrails are just damn right overpriced for us...
If we come up with a similar product from blinds then that could be more affordable for everyone....
Anyone have any kind of blinds in the garage that are no longer in use for some testing ?/ LOL
Ill reply tomorrow evening but im still in for friday evening no problem....
I have a few guys from work that will try to attend but not until around 7pm as they are on the late shift,...
05-19-2010, 10:54 PM
Those RoadRails are cool! Expensive, though!
05-19-2010, 10:59 PM
Yeah I know, just crazy how they are so high priced, ok they are the one and only but still !!! unless there is a large group of guys that run all the time and all picth in, its not worth it... I would do it if i had a home and a large enough back yard but then again it would be 4" tubing !! LOL
even that I had found a supplier for 4" tubing at around .50 a foot which is awesome prices !!!
Thus why it brought me to wanting to test a abc plastic blind from a retail or wholeseller !!
Would not be that hard to duplicate the rail system as long as they can withstand a few beatings and allow cars to run them over without exploding into bits... that is why i want to test them,,, Maybe tomorrow evening ill take a small trip to blids to go and see what they have as options and get a few quotes too...
05-20-2010, 07:40 PM
Alrite, so i dont know how rob's inspection of the area went. But for now, I will most likely show up(if no overtime). However, I might be a little late due to busing and carrying my 1/10 rc. Rob said hes ok around 7pm. I gave sean a call and he said hes not sure yet. Jiver may show up depending on the situation. Rob's co-workers may show up again depending on the situation.
Rob , since you are the closest. I was thinking, if you don't mind, txt me around that time and tell me if event is rolling. Ill try to get there on time, but if its not happening cuz of not enough people, then i don't want to waste a token. So i would appreciate it if i get some sort of notice via txt if its not happening. # is 5197293829.
05-20-2010, 08:42 PM
OK guys, i went there right after work to get there which was only 3 blocks from my work place took me around 30 mins, just crazy traffic, I normally head south to go home, no traffic.. lol
So being said this yes it was 5pm and it was as full as your mid noon time due to many buildings,,, I would have to say that around 7pm the lot should be empty but i did not get a chance to check it out at that time...
I dont mind showing up aswell being is only 5 k's away from my place.
So if i hear from you this evening stating that you will not show then ill be there for 7pm, that would at least give us just under 2 hours of run time. At least that is enough to check it out and hit a few hot laps...
We could always head over to the Rona location found on Midland and McNicoll if it gets too dark too fast... thats only a few mins drive away and there are lights there....
So place your posts, your responses and lets see what happens...
05-20-2010, 09:03 PM
I don't mind showing up around 7ish, traffic should be 10X better compared to 5pm. Now if we don't have enough people, would you guys like to do it this weekend or nxt saturday AFTER long weekend (as i guess most of the ppl have family events during the long weekend)?
05-20-2010, 09:32 PM
i have no problem anytime as long as weather is good, Even This Monday holiday for a few hours could be fun,
im charging my batts as we speak and will be there before 7pm setting up the track as long as cars are gone.
fyi, im only running nitros again....
05-20-2010, 09:56 PM
I have to talk to the boss but I don't see it being a problem for me to come out.
05-21-2010, 12:09 AM
what time tommorow? i finish work at 4:30 so considering traffic, i can make it for 5:30~6:00
05-21-2010, 09:56 AM
I should be OK for 6 - 6:30pm...
05-21-2010, 10:28 AM
All right, coming in with my friend with our 10th electric touring with silver can
05-21-2010, 10:33 AM
I have an electric B44 that I was going to bring, but, the battereis still need to be charged, so, I'll be bringing nitro vehicles.
05-21-2010, 11:15 AM
you guys can take your time, 6:30-7:00 would be fine (cuz cars might still be there, hopefully not). Ill get there around 7ish with my 1/10 black can onroad.
05-21-2010, 11:20 AM
It's the Friday of a long weekend, hopefully, most would leave early?
05-21-2010, 11:24 AM
Besides, cars make a good obstacle course! It will fine tune your driving skills, too! Margin of error is small and could be expensive?
05-21-2010, 11:49 AM
LOL, way too fun... Ill be there around 6:45 pm hopefully setting up the track for you all.
Im sure people will be kicking off home early today, but still lets set our goals for 7pm this way we will all be safe.
At least there are picnic tables to chill for a while.
Ill have my 1/10 sedan and 1/8 ofna spec sedan both nitro...
05-21-2010, 12:26 PM

05-21-2010, 09:28 PM
That was a few good hours, too bad some of you didnt show up. !! LOL
well at least we had a total of 5 cars running, Decided to run on the upper parking level which was a real smooth surface, had a lot of transitions for weight shift which gave it that extra fight to stay up front for all of us.
Was a great run, looking forward to running again with you crazy guys...
Now while we are all pumped up lets start suggesting a different location...
Too bad the rest of you didnt show, i guess the few spits of rain drops scared you off LOL, but in fact at 7pm it was super nice and lasted since...
Cheers and keep posting your thoughts, suggestions and comments...
05-22-2010, 07:00 AM
Had a blast last night!
Here are a few other locations to consider.
Parkway wall, good after 6pm on weekends and lit all night.
Victoria park and Consumers rd. Don't know much about it but it's a sea of parking lots.
Looking forward to the next run. Maybe Monday morningish in front of Staples at Parkway? Or even back at the same spot? I'm in either way!!
05-22-2010, 10:40 AM
Hey a bunch of guys from another forum run at Richmond Greens by the skate park every Tuesday and Thursday night after 6pm. Apparently they run everything there and set up a track. We should check it out.
A bit far from our locations but might be worth it.
05-22-2010, 12:57 PM
when are you guys going to meet up again? Looks like i missed a good meet. My nitro rs4 has been ready for like a month now.
05-22-2010, 02:19 PM
it was awesome. I don't mind going to the same place again (weekends as for sure no cars around), or new places.
@ Pharcyed: can you pm me about the site that you told me about? i couldnt find the actual forum, the group that runs on monday nights or something like that.
05-23-2010, 08:07 AM
You guys think we can get another run in this weekend? Maybe tonight (Sunday may 23) or Monday? I was thinking most good parking lots will be empty and lit. I'm in for after 7pm today or any time tomorrow.
05-23-2010, 02:35 PM
i can come to a meet today if anyone is going.
05-23-2010, 05:31 PM
Monday, lets goal for Monday !! all the lots will be closed, this would give us some wicked choices and a hot day tomorrow = sticky grounds...
Steeles and Markham Wallmart is a huge place and is still very recent as for lot. was there today and i was thinking to myself that this would be a great location,,
Anyways if you have any suggestions keep us posted, im open anytime tomorrow...
05-23-2010, 07:12 PM
I like it I like it! What time what time? Has anyone got a spar header gasket and screw for a HPI RS4? Could ya bring it? That would be awesome!
05-23-2010, 09:46 PM
LOL, look at what i just found in my spare parts,, a exhaust header gasket.. lol i presume you want the one that is between the head and header right..
what size screw you need ? for the header too ?? that would be a 3mm by 25mm or something close to that ?
Give me the specs on the screw, i have tons of replacements..
I would say mid or late afternoon, so that everyone can get there holiday stuff in order...
Im open anytime in the afternoon all the way to the evening no prob...
and can go e\anywhere any of you wish...
05-24-2010, 04:03 AM
Awesome. This is the header I'm trying to hook up.
Doesn't say how long the screw is but I know its standard off a RS4.
How does 4pm sound for everyone?
05-24-2010, 09:16 AM
Sure I would be ok for around 4pm, the Wife is not please but hey, thats why i have my Signature at the bottoms of my posts...
Im sure i can find a screw that will do the job..
How about the rest of you... anyone whats to hit a few fast laps today ???
Come on.. dont be shy.. if you want to run please post, if you have other things to do then please let us know.. cause if we cant get enough people together then ill hit some offroad with my Son instead..
05-24-2010, 10:49 AM

05-24-2010, 11:00 AM

Some other guys run at Richmond Greens skate park on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 6pm but I have never raced with them.
05-24-2010, 01:36 PM
Ready to go, who's all coming?
05-24-2010, 02:04 PM

05-24-2010, 05:23 PM
i'm gonna go to richmond greens on thursday, it's quite close to me. going to use my nitro rs4
05-25-2010, 08:57 PM
Just got home from running at Richmond Greens.
I have some good news, the park has a area of the lot blocked off strictly for running RC's!!! They even have permission from the city to be there!! I think we might be able to make this our new permanent home. The gate to the lot is locked at 11pm and it's lit!! I met 3 guys there tonight and each of them were running brushless and nitro. Nice spot for racing, could use a sweep but no cracks or high spots. They didn't have a track set up but I'm sure we could take care of that....
I think this might be a chance to set up actual scheduled races for us.
I'm going back there on Thursday night around 6pm who's in?
05-25-2010, 10:07 PM
Bummer, this Thursday I have my kids school BBQ evening to attend and well the wife is heading out for the evening. not sure what time she's expect ed back I would have so been in for that one if time is right...
So you Say Tuesdays and Thursdays,
If the weather permits, Ill be there next Tuesday if you wanna meet..
Not sure if any of them guys had read our post and or if you have one of there posts that we can tag onto ours, But Yep, im in for the nitro's !!!
A buddy of mine is selling his cup racer on here, I may just pick that one up for shits and giggles or still thinking about that little Vandetta like you had.. not sure which one ould be best for small electric..
Cheers and do stay in touch....

05-29-2010, 09:35 AM
I went after work as I work about ten minutes from Richmond Green. I had to leave early as I had lessons reserved. Anyway, I got there around 5:45 and ran a few tanks on my RS4 3 EVO 'Cuda! It was sunnie and hot! They had pilons set up to outline a track. I left about 7pm.
Smooth surface with some cracks, but, overall, quite smooth! Large area to run... will be back when I have some free time!

seems like everyone is having lots of fun at Richmond green. Too bad its too far for me and usually not available on tues/thurs LOL (especially this week, too much overtime work... sigh).
BTW, has anyone heard of RC MUSHROOM? RCMART is taking too long to reply my stock availability message (TB03R and TB EVO 5). Got a friend who told me he went with RC MUSHROOM and it was fine. Store in Hong Kong. Any thoughts?
06-02-2010, 10:02 PM
I dealt with them a few times and all went well, took around 14 business days to receive shipment and went through ems / canada post..

06-26-2010, 10:25 PM
Depending on the time, I'd be interested... Richmond Green, perhaps, or... ?
06-27-2010, 05:57 AM
I'm in, just need to know time and place. will be busy on the Saturday but should be good to go any other day.
I KO'd a speed control yesterday :( Good thing it was a HobbyWing or I'd really be upset.
06-27-2010, 06:58 PM
06-27-2010, 07:14 PM
Alas, Resound who's idea it was to have this meet doesn't drive, it would be nice for him if it were in Scarborough.
Costco at Warden and Ellesmere has brand new pavement and should most likely be closed on Thursday allowing us to have the place to our selves. Don't think we could make it a regular place because there are some homes close by (nitro noise) but one day couldn't hurt.
Just a thought
Friday and Saturday during the day are now out for me. Could prolly make an evening though.
