I was looking at this beauty on ETM's website. It has alot of detail and is available in 3 color schemes. I'm soo tempted to order the black one, espeacilly with a good exchange rate right now. I contacted Curtis at ETM and asked about shipping costs to me in Ontario. He quoted $60 for shipping(USPS I think). Not bad price considering the size of it. I've ordered a kit from ETM before and it arrived safely via USPS. From what I've read so far, it's about 200g's heavier then the DS Hawk. The fan setup that I'm going to use in my F-100 would be a nice combo for this kit, Midi fan, ARC 36-75-1 and an ICE100 esc on 8s.

This is a good deal for all composite models . Very tempting :)

Very tempting indeed:-). It looks like it will handle a small turbine too. This kit could go either way, another bonus.
A friend of mine asks herself, when considering a purchase, " will this improve my quality of life?" The answer, of course, is obvious- especially in this case. Go for it, Buffy!

Tom.
I think anything RC will improve ones life;-). My wife is going to kill me. My only advantage is that her birthday is coming up and I'll have to do something very special for her. Maybe I'll let her fly it one day...lol. The kit is coming directly from the factory in China via EMS. It was shipped today and should arrive next week. Way better then USPS from ETM. Shipping was $48us(EMS 8lb package) for a total of $682 Cnd after PP conversion. No plans on building it right away, good weather coming and I need to get outside. I have the FlyFly F-100 to do yet. I have a set of Spring Air's that I can use for retracts. I'm thinking a DS-51 for a fan. Altecare carries them and I'm sure I could save the shipping by going to Wingham and pick it up from Peter.

My Hawk arrived today, from China, with no damage. The box was very sturdy and protected the contents very well. Each piece is wrapped and sealed with bubble wrap. I was lucky with no extra charges from customs.

Here are some better pics. I found two small paint chips on the fuse. Other then that it's in perfect shape.

:-) If I go, I'll only bring 2 or 3 with me. If my Mrs. comes with me there won't be enough room, unless I leave her at home..;-). I have to finish the F-100 first. I probably won't get to the Hawk until the fall. And I swore I wouldn't go too big again. I'll have to punish myself with a DS51 fan.
Looks like a beautiful model- sure would improve the quality of MY life;):D

Buffy: The photo's provide quite a commentary on the changing face of R/C. Lots of electric jets nicely displayed on the wall and then an older prop. plane sort of stashed away in the corner almost as if it has been sidelined and forsaken. I guess I'm sort of glad to be joining the revolution. I have resisted, but, it is clearly the way things are going.

I think your right Bob. Every club should embrace electrics, a "green" revolution in RC can not hurt. I have one glow plane left that I rarely fly. The electrics are easy for my lifestyle, plug and play. And who doesn't like jets! The turbines are very cool but too much work for me and I can have several EDF's to one turbine, free will rules;-).
The plane in the corner was a camera platform that I used. I've robbed the gear from it for an EG Pro. After I hook up my OSD and camera, I hope to have some video soon.

You'll love this plane. If you need the manual for it, email us and we can send it to you. The flap hinges, it's in the manual, just excercise them a bit, they will free up. Don't cut or sand anything.

Thanks Curtis. That was the one thing that was not in the box, the manual. It's no big deal as I would of gotten around to finding one. I'll send an e-mail request to you, for a copy.
Cheers, Brian.
