I was thinking... would a Saito .30 power a Playboy Sr. (full size)?
I think so.. I flew one years ago with an old K&B .29 (late 50's era greenhead). I am currently flying mine with an Atwood Superchamp on ignition, its a .65.
Anyone flying one with a modern four stroke? If so what?
Thanks!

Andrew, the Saito 30 just loves a APC 12.25 X 3.75 aprox 9,000 Which equates to 1/2 HP
Being a freeflight model (of origin) more han adiquate.
Even if it is a Gold Anniversary model! Cheers.

I suspected as much - my old Torpedo .29 probably has less power than a modern .30 four stroke. And it flew great with the .29 two stroke..
I will probably try it. I love the Playboy Sr, its a nice plane and a great flier. I havnt flow it much in the past number of years with the Atwood Super champ on it... no throttle and no muffler doesnt allow it to be flown unless at a remote field.

Andrew, there are a lot of rural R/C sites here in Alberta that would love to have you, and the Playboy Sr.
Did you get your Gold edition Saito 30?
An old Enya open rocker 40 would be a sweet match (call Bill!).

Here is a Playboy Jr with an old ST 40 up front.........this would make a good glider tug;) way overpowered but the nose weight was needed.

Bill, out west we pull 16ft Glider. This is my oldest, smallest Tug. saito 182 twin in 1/4 scale cub. The 120" Pilatus is much better.
Andrew , I will check on my Gold edition Saito 30 this week. My good hobbyshop just orderd it when it became avalable. Being the 4 strock (guru) around here, that is what they say. If I know Perry he has it in his basement, and tagged for my acount.
Take care my eastern buddies!
Got notice of an oldtime, senior member hospitalised (Palitive care) this morning, kind of a sad day.

Bill, I may well drive 2 1/2 west to visit today. That's not to long to cry is it.

Edit, sorry Andrew. Not to pirate your thread.
We love old builders, and flying buddy. And their families that we grow to love.
