Old Kyosho

I was in RC back in the mid 80's for about 5 years and then again for a brief spell in the early 2000's (nitro truck). I still have a bunch of old Ultima's and Optima's.
I have a fair supply of parts and bodies but I do need servos, batteries and throttle controls.
I figure for the throttle I'll go electronic as the old manual controls were always troublesome.
So my question is what is the best ESC to go with, who makes GOOD batteries and what steering servos should I go with.
I'm not looking for cheap stuff, I'm looking for reliable stuff.
