I've had a Stampede Vxl for about a year and a half and want to upgrade it to the full 60+ mph that it says on the box. It is completely stock and is 2wd. It came with the vxl-3s and velinien 3500. What should i upgrade to get the best performance out of this truck? Also what components should I replace to rpm parts?

You will need to re-gear the truck and get a high C rated 5000-8000mah 3s battery. The RPM bearing carriers and A arms will be great. Get the shock towers and everything else as you break them. I have had a rustler for 5 years and still have my original rear shock tower for example so don't go crazy until you know what you will break.

Thanks. Just two more questions, can you explain the terms and what they are for batteries (mainly the ones for LiPos) and do i need to buy the fan for the esc if i get a high powered lipo?

Please be specific as to what terms you need clarified. Also the ESC shouldn't require a fan if the truck is geared and setup well. The fan will basically lower exterior temp of ESC, many people may disagree with me but its true, and you should no rely on a fan.

Terms like the C rate, mah, and "p" rate or something like that. Also what company of LiPo should i get? I don't want to spend any more then 80 dollars. I was thinking either a Blue LiPo or a Sky LiPo.

Thanks for all the help. One last question (most likely), on the box it says that my NiMh battery pack has 8.4 volts, so should I get a 8.4 volt LiPo?

LiPo come in 3.7V, 7.4, 11.1 etc, so you would want a 7.4V lipo, which is 2S, or 2 cell. 3.7x2=7.4V. A 3S 11.1V will give your truck all the speed you need, I believe it is safe for the VXL.
P.S. we seem to live close, we should get together to bash sometime?

i've hit a skate park once and somebody hit my rc with a skateboard so it wasn't much fun. Luckily he only damaged the rear stub axel carrier and it was fixed that day
