I was thinking of getting a Funtana 125 and was wondering how much weight you can put on the nose and what will fit. I've got a GMS 120 with a pitts muffler and a Super tigre 90. I guess I would like to know about prop clearance. The ST weighs about 29 oz and the GMS about 32.
Thanks. George

Hi George.... Gary Maker had one with a Saito 125 on it and probably was swinging a 15 or 16 inch prop. The Saito would weigh in at around 25oz all up I figure, so you would be a bit heavier, but I am not sure how his balanced. He will be back Sunday evening and I am sure he would be more than happy to give you some info on it!
I think this airframe was built around the Evolution 120 and it weighs 29.5oz, so you are in the ballpark with either....but I would go with the GMS 120 just for the brute power!:grin:and then if you had to, just position the battery to get the balance right on!
I was thinking about getting this airframe for my Saito 180, but went with the Seagull Yak instead. I will let you know when I get around to maidening it if I made the right choice or not!

Thanks Curt. I got smart and did a bit more searching. It seems guys are using CRRC 26 and DLE 30's on them so my GMS ahould be fine.

In all honesty George... The DLE30 is insane power on the Funtana 125, not to mention the added weight.
I have been reading about some guys putting the DLE-20 on with good success.
So, I'm sure your 120 will do just fine.

Thanks Guys. I think I'm on the right track. I would appear that the Evo 120 balanced out with the battery pack and no other added weight. That's what I would be hoping to do.
