Hello all
I have a few 0.049 planes that are in need of new props. Since they are cl you need a pusher prop for them to get the right rotation. Does anyone have a good source for these props?

Why would you need pushers, .049s rotate in the same direction as any model engine?
How does control line require pusher props.
I'm not trying to be a know it all, I have 30 years of control line experience and have never encountered a pusher prop set up unless it was required by the power configuration such as a rear mounted engine, with the prop "pushing" from the rear.
If you really need to use a pusher prop and you can find one, I would suggest trying Coxengines.ca , http://coxengines.ca/propellers/

The rotation helps to send the plane to the outside of the circle. The standard props turn in a direction to have the plane do a left turn. I checked them and they have only standard.
By the way if you have ever seen the factory props from COX, they are made to turn clockwise when you look at the plane frome the front. Starter spring does that as well.

I think what I was questioning was your statement that all c/l planes used pushers.
You are correct that some cox airplanes used clock wise rotation.
Mostly though the torque effect from the prop can generally be off-set by trimming and design.
I have flown a number of stunt planes that required 0 degrees off-set on engine and or rudder, these were .35+ in engine sizes flying 60ft lines with laps around 5.5 seconds, never encountered a problem with torque.
Finally I think the "torque" effect was a myth started by cox sales men to boost sales of their own products.
Here's a great website that has all kinds of info for us c/l guys.

In 65 years of flying 1/2A models, I can only think of a couple of instances where CW rotation is used, ie, 1/2A Proto Speed, and twins; rare indeed. Otherwise, every other instance of flying 1/2A has always been CCW, like nearly every other model airplane engine. I have seen a few (very few) people fly a CW circle, again very rare.
However, I wouldn't write off the torque effect: I have often been the victim of a poor launch and have the model come winding up the lines at me. Gets your attention right away...

Nice site Mikecoul. :TU:

I have not had that happen to me yet. Since I restarted in the hobby I have made it as easy for my helper (wife) as I can. To do that I always do ground take offs. I am lucky enough to have a paved runway here to use. When it was my brother doing the launch, we use to do hand launch and he never messed it up after we learned how. Don't think I could do one now as it has been about 15 years since I did one.

You really ought to contact Paul Gibeault in Leduc, he's got everything for Cox's!
