Looking for someone to cut a simple set of wing cores for a Bill Evans Simitar, Constant cord, non swept wing.

Please let me know if you are able to assist.

Cheers,

GB

GB..Posting in only one forum is generally sufficient to attract attention to your needs. There are fellas here that should be able to help you out...

I'm not really in the Barrie area (closer to Markham) but, there are a few of us in the Ajax club who are adept at cutting cores.... is it worth the trip?

I have a goldberg sukoi in need if a foam wing, I was going to order one from dynamic balsa, but prefer giving busines to local fellas, The fuse is built covered and lookes like it is ready for a trip to the flying field. I have not even started a wing for it. I hate building wings. Anyone 9in the club done this wing before. I have no templates. I have cut many foam wings myself, but after a few tryies of this wing, it is really hard to do by hand. Double tapered plus tapered from root to tip. I might live in Orillia, but work in Maple. Driving isn't an issue. I don't need it till spring as other projects are in line.

The sukhoi, now that's a tough wing. Doable but, tough.

Have you tried the "graduated points" method?
You need the setback of tip template and set graduated points at the same percentage on both tip templates. Progess smoothly from point to point to arrive at each point simultaneously. Easier with a helper, call out the points as you go.

Another method I heard works well (but I haven't tried) is the "radius method". You need to determine the radious that would accout for your offset and extend your bow to a pivot at the centre of the circle for the radius. I recall reading an article on this some time ago... maybe someone has a link? :?:

Yonge and Eglinton?
I work at Birchmount and Eglinton, a bit of a drive but, maybe we could meet for lunch somewhere halfway?

Sounds like a good idea.

I will be out of the office until Monday so we can swap contact information before then and possibly make a plan to get together.

If you want to email me the best address to reach me on is in the preceeding email.

Cheers,

GB
