stitching

Hey guys, I'm building a Bellanca Columbia and don't know how to duplicate the stitching that runs under the windows, up to cowl, down the edge of the cowl and back to the landing gear. It's a open structure and can't lay-out pins to weave tread around and dope down. It's sort-of like the stitching on a SE5A. I'm going to experiment with white glue and see what happens. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks Paul

I assume the stiching is covered with pinking tape?
Why not stitch thin material and fabric glue this to the inside of the pinking tape before doping it to the covering?

Is this a "cross" stitching or parallel type, or angled or what??
