When I put the cowl on my extra 300, I have to take the needle valve out and even then it bends over that thing that causes the clicks when u turn the needle valve. Today that broke off. What should I do. I was talking to someone else and they suggested taking a peice of fuel tubing to replace it and to give a bit of resistance, what do u think? Thanks?

Usually a piece of large fuel tubing over the needle will keep it there.

Can you send a photo of the clicker piece? Maybe I have some spares.

Maybe later this week, when I get a hold of my uncles digital camera. Tuesday maybe.

also I read where the pocket clip for bic click pens (cheap at wallymart) can be cut down and used for the "click' factor on most needle valve assemblies with a little imagination.

recon,
you can buy just that part from your hobby shop. Bought one last year...cost a couple of bucks....

I too have used a pocket holder from a pen, I think they are the same thing! I smell a conspiracy at large. Free with the pen but $2- $3 if you buy them for your engine 8). But seriously, I have used the pen trick just as well as a comercially available needle valve clicker. Recon give it a try should work well.

How do I attach it to the engine?

The round part that goes around your pen, would now go around your needle valve assembly; same as the broken one.

Problem is the pens we are refering to are plastic; though I'm sure there is a metal equiv at wally mart.

Basically it's a metal pocket clip with a round end that fits over the pen like a sleeve. It looks almost the exact config as the one you had on your engine. If you look in the stationary section I'm sure you'll see it. I'll look through some stuff tonite. If I can find one, I'll pm for you address and stick it in the mail for you

Okay, I did find a pen with the clip and have it on right now, it works pretty good. Also, I went on to the Ace Hobby website and filled out one of the online forms describing my problem. I got an e-mail back asking for my address so they can send me a replacement! Not bad eh?
