Hey, I know I posted some pics here way back in the fixed wing forum (I think back in Oct 2002) regarding my 'el Cheapo fun fly plane I built. Its a coroplast profile fuse and tail, with a white styrofoam constant chord wing with coro ailerons. It has now undergone extensive flight testing and MAN it rocks! I cant believe how good this thing flies, more importantly how low-stress it is to fly LOW and CRAZY! I am trying all sorts of low level (>10 feet) rolling and inverted manouvers and with the Irvine 53 and the 5 pound weight it can easily loop in a 6 to 8 foot area and flies at a standstill in a slight breeze.

I am going to experiment with more of these this summer for sure!

I had my first two "incidents" with it also, showing how tough it is. I landed inverted under power in the dirt field, disnt do anything buty break the wood prop. I also cartwheeled it on a less than steller landing attempt in a gusty wind. Again, no damage!

If you want to push the envelope of your flying with NO stress and NO fear build one of these babies... :)

Andrew, that is FAR too nice looking to be considered a SPAD. :D

(note the duct tape on the fuse and all the cow sh-t on the wing) :yuk:

Kelly,
If thats nice looking.. HA! Most of the guys at my club didnt think toomuch of it last fall when I brought it down to the meeting in the fall. But then this monday past a bunch of them saw it fly for the 1st time. I think they thought it was OK after that! :)

Looks arent everything, are they. A good flying piece of crap is worth a lot. More guys should see that improving your flying is just as important as building a nice scale built up model. If you cant do that low inverted rolling pass becasue you are too scared to risk the model, how will you ever practice it?! SPAD!!!
