I just noticed something now as I was going the the forum list. Besides the "General Discussion" forum, the "Jets" forum has the most posts! This post will make it 1606 posts and 131 threads.. That's pretty good for being only one aspect of the hobby.
Now tell me, how cool is that 'eh?

um, VERY COOL?! ;)

Even though I just started into jets last summer, I am on my way to having two turbine powered planes soon, and it is one of the most interesting things I have gotten myself into lately in the hobby.

Its fun stuff indeed... :)

Jets are addictive!

We now have three guys building jets for next flying season in our club. One is a Mirage 4000, one is an F16 and I'm still trying to get the F22, Venom, A4 Skyhawk. Hot Spot, L139 and a secret project done.

Not enough time! and I'm still about 1/3 of what marty has on the go!

I confess that I would rather fly. Got three good flights in this evening. Put the buddy box to good use, so I was able to watch and listen for a change while my finger was on the training button.........

Today I put in two demo turbine flights at the scale rally held in Chatham Ontario.

The Kangaroo got off in about 200 feet and landed in the same distance. We had to shut the turbine off on the landing approach but it was manageable.

I did my share again in promoting jets. It was interesting to see that there were some really nice scale jobs out there but my good old Kangaroo got the press review again. As I say there are people that admit to liking jets and then there are the ones that are jet lovers in the closet. :D

Nony and I have changed fields (smoother and longer) to try get more flights on the Reaper , ie. less repairs from rough fields, and it is very hard to get many flights in an evening as TONS of questions. Interest is high even from people who have no interest, desire, etc. to fly a turbine.

I think one of the main fascinations how QUIET the plane is when flying, the smell doesn't hurt either. :D

There were basic trainers with stock mufflers were MUCH noisier than the turbine.

It is very cool.

It's pretty cool. And, if I recall correctly, you'll find the same thing on RCU. The Jet forum there is also one of the most active.

However, I think if you look at it a bit closer, you may discover why that is the case. Jets, by their nature, are somewhat more technical than other types of aircraft. Hence, most jet jocks are more technically inclined. Following that line of logic leads one to the conclusion that more jet jocks have computers and Internet access than other types of modellers. Consequently, the jet forums have more participants per capita of the modelling community.

Well, that's my theory, and I'm stickin' to it. :D
