i was jsut wondering what you guys do to your packs to keep them running strong and good for along time

Oh, just the usual stuff.
I balance the packs every so often and store NiCds discharged. I store LiPos 50% charged. I don't like leaving (anything but LiPos) fully charged because the pack performs quite poorly.
I never re-peak a pack as I think this is a form of abuse. NiCds seem to like being fully discharged. NiMH cells don't like this quite as much. I like to wait at least 20 minutes before charging a NiCd pack that has been working hard (fast discharge). It seems to be harder on the pack if I charge too soon. I'm not as sure about waiting to charge NiMH after high current usage as I have less experience with them. I also use a cooling tube if the batteries are warm.
I monitor charging at home by connecting an Orbit charger to the PC. The charge/discharge curves can be telling.

What kind of packs are you talking about? Tx and Rx or power packs for motors??

ya were talking about any of the packs i just got a bunch of new packs and cells and i want to start off right with them. :)
