Buddy of mine, John Pirozek, is just putting the finishing touches on this Cobra Bipe he built from plans.

Very unique look to it. 300 Saito Twin on Ignition for power. WS is somewhere around 80". We'll see what it flies like come spring.

That's one mean looking Biplane there Marc.
What magazine did the plans come from, RCM or MAN?
Will look forward to the flight report come the spring.

Now, that is a bipe I would like to build - even if it wasn't an ARF. I had to beat Jim to the punch. :D

I forgot who did the plans, but I'll get the info and post it when I have it.

Thanks Jim,

Dan Santich designs usually aren't too bad. It should fly pretty good.
I have the M.A.N. plans catalogue somewhere at home, funny I have never noticed this one before.
Looks interesting.

Only one wing has ailerons and it's the upper wing. :oha: I wonder how that affects performance. It's the uniqueness that makes it stand out too.

I'd be curious also how it handles. With a short coupled fuse and the lower wing (at least in the pic) looks to be almost level with the wheel pants, landings I would assume will be real careful ;)

Like Derrick said, I look forward to the flight report (and wish I could be there to hear the Saito 300 twin; just idling 8) )

This one looks like a future project

You should be able to find documentation on the full scale version. It was a quarter midget mustang pylon racer mated to a funky set of biplane wings. I seem to remember that it enjoyed some successes.
