Alwright you old dope salts
I'm about ready to start covering my Cl415 and will be using Sig koveral and nitrate as always but want to try a little talc in it this time to fill the weave in fabric so it doesn't take as much paint to do so, how much talc are we talking about, just a dash or what. thanks guy's.

What I use is 1/3 talc, 1/3 dope and 1/3 thinners. I brush on and reduce with more thinners if required.
Works for me.

Well, it's been a while since I've done this, but I do know that, if possible, you should use talc, not baby powder or some bathroom product which has had additives put into it. Some of these cause a bad result. You are going to add enough to the container that it will settle out and need stirring up from time to time. The old caveat applies: sand in a well-ventilated area or use a good dust mask--airborne talc is nasty.

I heard that the unscented baby powder is the one to use.
I have used it and it sure makes for a smooth surface that is easy to sand.

Thanks space cowboy
That must be the type or only type there is now, most of them are cornstarch I didn't have any luck just finding plain old talc powder last night. so I will try the uncented baby powder.

I bought some pure at the drug store several years ago. It was pricey. I have read (but not tried myself) that cornstarch will work as well. The unscented baby powder just might be the answer. Good luck, Dzl
