Need some info on how to install my floats on a sig 1/4 scale cub.
There is a c/g mark on the fuse does the step need to be there or slightly fwd?
Just asking.
thx! :)

I have had success with the C.G. about 3/4 of an inch behind the step
Also, Try to get the front tip of the floats, at least Two (2) inches ahead of the nose (prop line ). This keeps the floats from "Digging In " especially on Landings.Make the floats centers as wide as possble 16 to 18 inches if poss. This makes for much better water handling. Not so Tippy in turns etc,. Wish you success, lot's O fun flying off water. :) :)

O/K thanks,
I have them on now and they look good.Still need to check the balance.
thx :)
There are some guidelines for setting up floats, but I have seen a lot of variations that work quite well. I prefer the step in front of the cg (about where the wheels would be. Landings are best done with a hint of power touching down on the step and the heel (basically the back part of the float) at the same time...this seems to reduce the ricochet, and multiple bounce landings.
Like I said, the rules are not hard and fast like some people tend to believe, and there is lots of room to experiment and tweek your particular setup...
