Hey Mike
I got info from a William Elliot that the fun fly is still on ( June 12th)
It is at the Elliot Lake airport. The Airport is on the left side of hwy 108 going into town. The fun starts at 9:30 or 10:00 and goes till about 4:00
I have William's phone number if you wont to PM me later.

Confusion on the date started when the EL folk were nice enough to trade their normal date with another club.As a result of those negotiations the event registration was late for the MAAC Mag deadline and didnt make the April issue.
The Northshore club has used the municipal airport before and its a pleasant change with the airport facilities available and pavement to fly from.
There is usually interest from full size pilots and staff at the airport too.
Too bad more municipal governments will not follow Elliot Lakes lead when it comes to model use of full size airports ,but Elliot Lake has always been a very progressive community while most others (like mine) pay lip service to attracting tourism traffic and will not make the effort to change time honored rules like sharing air space.........

:checkmark: I will be bringing up the MAAC kit for our hosts to draw on at the event.

Congrats to the Northshore flyers of Elliot Lake for a well organized and different fly in today at their municipal airport.
Although high winds and black flies did their best to ruin the fun they did not prevail and we all got some practice in flying from pavement and enjoyed ourselves immensley.
Cec outdid himself and introduced us to a fine meal on the way home at a little hole in the wall place where an excellent home made dinner complete with fresh home made strawberry pie was had for $15 or so.
Gawd.....who has more fun than modellers?

Many thanks to the Northshore flyers in Elliot Lake the event was well organized and there was certainly a good turnout for the event. As mentioned by Kevin it was certainly a toss back and forth between the wind and the bugs but we made the best of it. Mostly clear blue skies and wide open space just added to the different flying experience at their municipal airport. Again , thanks to all the guys in Elliot Lake.
:hot: This week end is the SMAC event , here in Sudbury. :hot:
 Come on Friday!!! :oha:
