best heli for a beginner ??

I need some help from you guys who are experienced with heli. i'm flying airplanes since 3 years now and i'm a intermediate pilot. i'm flying gaser airplane. i begin to like heli but need help to make the right choice for my first heli. i do a lot of simulator and have no problem... sure its not easy but i like it !! i don't whant too small and not too big. Something who will fly well, stable and easy to find parts :) Someone suggest me the Raptor 50 V2. what do you think about that ?

The Raptor 50 is defiantly the way to go (or any 50). You will be a long time out growing it, chances are, you will never out grow it. Parts shouldn't be a problem, I think every hobby shop in Canada/USA stock parts for Raptors. Getting help shouldn't be a problem either, there are a lot of people out there flying them.

Find out what your local club flies and use their experience to get this going.

i can tell you what is good for you but i dont want to start a long tread because ,everyone fly a heli they gona tell you this and this and that

its tuff to tell because everyone have different taste for heli.some people they gona tell you Raptor ,Century or Hirobo shuttle,its you, you need to decide about that.You need to start with a .30 engine and for my sel i start with a Hirobo shuttle and i never be decipointed(sorry for this word im french).....

the good idea,is what NUKER told you go see heli owner and make you a idea....

Forget the micros. They’re not good machines for beginners, something like a .30 or a .50 is best.

What we are saying is 30's and 50's are cheaper to run and maintain.

As for the brand, it is easier to go with a brandname that other local fliers are using because they will be familiar with teh setup of the heli. Their support and advice to you in the early stages will be extremely valuable to you.

Availability of parts is another good attractor.

Find an insturctor and go with their recommendation. bigger flies better but costs more to maintain.

Go to the local hobbie shops, see what they are selling. Like the other post said, see what is the most in demand in that area. Raptor is a great product, I personaly fly a JR Ergo 46. Great bird, easy to fly for beginners. They no longer make this but the Venture is great also. I have flown a Venture 50 and it flys really good. Your choice, Good luck!!!

From what I have seen in Quebec most entry level and 30/50 class guys fly raptors. From a parts replacement stand point this model had the advantage. If you buy used then go with something modern by design, you don't want an old style Shuttle XX etc.

Like someone said, walk into the hobby shop you want to deal with and look at the parts stock. If they don't stock numerous parts for the helicopter they recommend to you then walk away and shop elsewhere.
Mail order is usually 2 days away BTW.
