Finally got the G 2 simulator flights going extremely well (I can land)! and picked up my Avistar yesterday, and I was ok with the fact that I'm not going to fly until spring...Until I took a drive to the Ajax field and someone was flying a Avistar with skis, :shock: that was cool, so drove to the LHS, bought fuel, came home and started the plane in the gar. (at least I know it runs)

ps That avistar (belonging to our new treasurer) was going through props and skiis at an alarming rate, but at least it finally flew :wink:

Thanks for the invitation Bob, I'll definately take you up on it next time, but the wife was with me, and I promised her we would leave right after the avistar flight so we can do really fun stuff like SHOPPING :x

regarding the skis, I read quite a few posts in the forums on making your own, my question is, is it worth it or can you buy them at a reasonable price?

Easy enough to make your own, depends on how handy you are. That being said, it's about $30 to buy them :)

I made mine with some small pieces of fly and plastic pop bottles cut in half. The only problem is no friction so when we had some ice covering, it skidded forever. We did have a few laughs watching it slide though :lol:
