Hi All,

Weatherman- 0
Maac Scale Combat Flyers- 1
HEHEHE

We 'dodged a bullet' and got 6 rounds in.
The 'Lucky Wet Weather Streamers' lucked out in the end.
I know all the balloons got busted while the scores were being added up. Sounds 'Pop'ular to make it an added Event next time ! ! !

I have to Thank so much all 15 pilots who showed up and put on an awesome display of flying skill.
GREAT COMBAT ! ! ! Few midairs and lots of cuts. (well earned with the wet weather streamers !)

It was fantastic that we all found 'BossHog's plane that crossed the 16mi. Creek. 'SHOCKWAVE' is a true Bloodhound at finding downed planes !

Results:

1st place- Jeff'Iceman' Also flew his Polikarpov I-16 one round to win the Best/Worst Midair Award too !

2nd place- Alex'Midair', winner of the last two Onslaughts.

3rd place- Jeff'Comebact Kid' Cole. 15 yrs old. Saved his streamer pts and got some cuts...great flying !

Best Scale-(Sorry I forgot who) flew a really nice P-51 all 6 rounds.

Winners at the 'prize raffle' are confidential. (gotta enter to win ! ! !)

Sponsors SkyCraft Hobbies, HobbyHobby and Trafalgar Ales and Meads put up some great prizes. Thank you very much ! ! !

It is Absolutly Fantastic to be able to fly with you guys 'recreating WW2 fighter combat'...

The most fun you can have with a model airplane.

Take care,
Have fun,

How good was that!! Great call on the weather Crosscheck...had to laugh when you told everyone the church parking lot would be busy because it's Sunday. Once again the Cobble Hills Flying Circus dominated the scores and redefined the term "pushing the envelope"; 70 mph, deliberate full throttle landings (2), warbird lomcevaks, streamer cuts with a sagging engine, full throttle pylon racing / balloon busting, etc. Was Alex there yesterday? To end the day everyone went to the Pub to study warbird paint schemes. Thanks to the sponsors, including Hobby Hobby and Skycraft for a very generous prize table.

I'm sort of sorry now that I didn't stay. I guess I wasn't as confident in the weather as you guys. Sounds like another good time. I'll be better next year if I stay at the combat game at all. I have sort of lost the interest I'm afraid. Was there any discussion at the debriefing session about what might be the norm for next year. I know there was some interest in a format closer to the 2548 concept???? I like the 2548 idea personally and the 48 inch universal span idea makes all designs fairly even and they sure are a nice size. Gary has shown that almost any design can be fashioned from coro and 48 inch span wings fit those coro sheets so well.
Best Regards to all, see you next year.

Oh ya what a day. I know the small amount of rain didn't slow most competitors or dampen there spirits. I had a blast even though I finished 4th, The food was very appropriate and good. Plus we were all having a ball with the ballon popping. I know the usual pilots were giving us a good show plus many others. Killer Ken, one dive and get two wet weather streamers. Good season ender.

It was a good competition.

Thankyou: Dan'Buzz'Paluzzi, Ted'Dogfight'Banks, Ryan Jones and Rick'Shockwave' for being the 'Onslaught crew'. Thanks for helping out, you all get lifetime Unabashed Combat Team memberships !

There were alot of really good Rounds/Heats.
Best for me was the last Heat. Ken'Killer' somehow trailing half the streamers with 3 minutes to go...you had to be there...
Gary'Bent' landing his Corsair after an end of round midair...with less than half his stab working ! ! !
The spectacular I-16/P-51 midair...

Alot of great flying.

It was impossible to fly on the Sunday. The long range weather isn't looking so good either !
Make that Weatherman-0...Maac Scale Combat Pilots-2 ! ! !

Nice to meet Eric'erg' and Bill O with fellow member of the London Camera Club. Hope you got some good shots in the grey conditions !

I almost had time to test fly my Typhoon but I figured I might scare pilots away ! ! !
