Any chance you might have something on the CF100 in your H-u-g-e bag of tricks??
I'd like to draw one up at 100". I know Mr John Davidson is working on one I think he's in Alberta. I've had some correspondance with him, but I think his drawings are typically sketches on wrapping paper, or something that makes it difficult to sort out and copy off.
I bought whatever was available from Bob Banka in California, for the amount it cost me, I was really depressed in what I got in the mail. 2 magazine clippings a a 3 view that wasn't of much use.

I have a drawing of the CF100; I'll look it up, and I can photocopy it and send it to you if you like. Let me know...

Hi Mike,
Yes I have bought numerous drawings over the years from Bob Banka and it seems to be hit and miss. Some good, some bad but the best or worst was when I visited him in Toledo years ago and asked if he had pictures of the DHC-5D Buffalo. He said yes then proceeded to pull out pictures of the DHC-4 Caribou. When I told him he was wrong that the pictures were of a Caribou he told me I didn't know what I was talking about.
At which point I asked him if he had ever taken a tour through the De Havilland plant in Toronto? He said no and I said "well I have and I have pictures of a Buffalo, that ain't one there in your hand" he just insisted he was right and walked away. :? :?
But I digress... here are some drawings of the CF-100.

TLyttle... I would be interested in a copy of the drawings you have. Please PM me.

Wow, that would be great! and would save me a lot of time drawing something up from scratch.
Slip a note in the package for whatever it cost you for reproduction and mailing. I'll gladly get a money order out to cover all your expenses.

Hi Mike,
If you want to do DF or tubine model of CF-100 then i would suggest you should inouch with Ted Anton, his friend Gary Strong made composite CF-100's DF model some 8-9 years ago, i remeber seeing it at November's hobby show during participation in John's Beauti contest with my GP Learjet....Gary is currently testor for Yellow aircraft for there new composite structures...i think it would be worth the time and effort for you...
Just my suggestion..
Cheers,
Sammy

Sounds like another good lead.
I'll send an emal to Yellow. Hopefully they can put me on to Gary.
I'm also hoping I can get the drawing from TLyttle. That would save alot of designing time.
I've also got a phone message in to the Historian Officer at the Department of National Defence. I'm just waiting for a return call.
This is certainly one of those rare breeds that are difficult to source.
If I get enough material from all sources, I'm going to draw it up at 90"-100" and make it available to everyone.

I just spoke to the folks at Yellow. They know Gary and they are aware, but nothing will be produced on the CF100. No model, no drawings, , , , nothing.

No problem, I'll get right on it, Mike.
You may also want to check out the buildup that Oilman is doing; I assume that he is in the process of kitting it for electric, I haven't followed the thread all that closely...

I found the plan: it is the Astra plan on 18"x24", almost frameable, nice work. Anyhow, there are no sections shown, but it is a fairly simple shape: who's gonna call you a liar?
Let me know if it is of any use to you, Mike...

If it's of no use to you, can you send it to me?
Or can you get it copied off?
(Put a note in the envelope for whatever it cost you. I'll refund you back.)

Wow, I'll say! Try finding workable plans for any of our significant aircraft except the Beaver (good model just the same, which is why GWS runs such a successful kit). Don't, however, look for small r/c or rubber plans for a Twin Otter (GWS gives us the BN2) or a Norseman, or any of the other aircraft designed and/or built in Canada. It is very difficult; I have a plan for a Norseman, Model Craft from the 40s, rubber power. Why are there so few kit manufacturers in Canada that offer something less than 6' Beavers or larger? Not every beginner wants to start there, never mind a small-scale builder! :x

I have a three view drawing (24'X36") with cross sections. Also have the drawings for 100" wing span model. The drawings are only the out line and all panel lines. This was given to me by a good friend of mine who has built at lest five smaller ones over the last ten years.
I am sure he would not mind me making copies if any body is interested.

Thanks Flypaper but it's now way advanced - well past the 3 view design stage!
I now have the CF100 drawn up in AutoCad at 1/6 & 1/7 scale with about 15-17 fuse formers or so. I took the scale profile from 36 x 80 size original AVRO factory drawings of the Mk 5. They are big!!
Iv'e started templating for the 1/6 scale.
Wingspan is about 115".
