Looking for input on the quality of this ARF. Have you seen one? Do you own one? What do you like / dislike about it? How does it measure up over all? Looks? Workmanship? Flight characteristics? What engine did you use? etc etc....

There's been a couple of these in our club over the years, it's a great ARF fly's nice and looks good too. Don't own one myself but if I was going to get a Cub Arf that would be the one. They are not trainer like in the air though, more Glider like. To look realistic in flight they should be flown using the rudder as well as ailerons or even only the rudder. This charecteristic is exactly like the full scale plane, it is not a negative point by any means.

My Buddy purchased one a few months ago. Test flew it for him a few weeks back.
Great construction, good covering.
flies great, hes using eveloution .45
All around one of the best arfs i have seen in awhile.
Mine is great. I now have it on floats. I used a .61 ASP four stroke and it was OK. It seemed a little weak last year and I switched out to an ASP .80 four stroke. Should be lots even with the glass covered foam floats.
I have now set the valves/tappets on the .61 ASP and it would have been OK left in the Cub. I have enjoyed lots of flights. It went together well and looks good in my opinion.
I got one when they first came out..it was a great plane and taught my son and I a lot about finesse...I wore it out, rebuilt and recovered, and wore it out again..it was a favourite that got a LOT of flights on it over the years...it was awesome on floats too.....
looks like they have improved it quite a bit since I bought mine (years ago..)..I was just looking over the details..2 piece wing, aluminum struts...some nice stuff there..

Well I took delivery today of the Hangar 9 Cub ARF....
:TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: What a beauty!! :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU:
Everything was packaged carefully, wrapped individually in clear plastic. A huge assortment of hardware... even the fuel tank is assembled with colour coded fuel lines!
The only issue I have with it is a crack in the paint on the top of the fiberglass cowl... I sent an email to Hangar 9 (well... Horizon Hobby) to ask if they would replace it.

Here's a copy of the email I received back from Horizon Hobby regarding the cracked cowl that was in my new Cub ARF...
Thank you for your recent email.
A new cowl was placed on backorder for you. Go ahead and use the cowl that came with the kit and when we get new cowls in we will get one out to you. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call at 1-877-504-0233.

Great Hobbies deliverd mine two days ago. Happy with the airplane. The only defect was an aileron control rod with badly machined threads on it. Would not accpt a clevis as threads went around the rod concentrically and shallow grooves. Not a thread. Otherwise I am happy to have the airplane and look forward to flying it.
Very pretty airplane that seems very well built.

Mine is together and flying.... I couldn't be happier! Well... ok, I could be happier if I was a better pilot, but I can't complain about the plane! This is going to be a great flying season with this beauty!!
