Sorry, I don't mean to be a party pooper but if you've listed an item for sale and someone has purchased it - you've sold it.... Please be so kind as to go back to your initial posting and edit the heading saying that it is now sold OR that a sale is pending upon receipt of funds etc.
I have made a few inquiries about various listings here in the " For Sale: Cars and Trucks" forem only to be told they are already sold. Marking them as sold would keep interested people from wasting their time looking into items that are no longer available and it will keep you from getting PMs on items you no longer have, so it works to the benefit of everyone involved.
Please be considerate and use proper sales edicate....Mark your sold items "SOLD". Thanks for your consideration and co-operation!

Bingo! I like Gary find it very frustrating. My personal favorite is when an item gets sold and the seller rather than editing the original heading to read "SOLD". will post another comment on the thread to tell people the item has been sold and therefore bumps the original heading back to the top of the pile. The original heading still does not indicate that the item has been sold so you click on it and read through only to find it has in fact been sold. Its just as easy to edit the original topic as it is to post another comment. Do the math!!!!

That goes for threads looking for something as well. Reading this thread just jarred me into realizing I had a thread open looking for something, and the topic needed to be modified to reflect the fact I had received what I was looking for.
Thanks, Gary for the wake-up call.
Maybe a time limit on for-sale and wanted adds would help?
It wouldn't be a big deal to renew every 2 months or so until an item is sold, if you don't renew, your add would automatically become inactive.
I wonder if it's possible for Jason to set it up like that?

I think it happens because most sites don't let users change the "header" or topic of the thread, which is why most people probably forget to (or don't know they can) change it. I think that's why we see people "bumping" the threads with a SOLD reply in them, (better than not posting any update at all).
Being able to edit the header on a thread is a great feature I wish more sites would implement.

BUMP!
No matter how often you remind folks to use proper sales edicate and be kind enough to mark their headers for the post sold when an item is gone, it still happens all the time.
This is a service that Jason is kind enough to provide at no cost to the seller, at least they could show appreciation for this provision and follow the rules.
It does get frustrating looking a posting over, then deciding to perhaps make an offer only to scroll down to the last post and find its gone!!!
AGAIN: Simply go to your origional post, click the edit button, go to the header and type "Sold" or "Traided" or something to indicate the item is no longer available. Click "Submit" and your finished!
ONLY TAKE ABOUT ONE MINUTE!!
This is one of my pet peeves, but I'm sure others have felt the same frustration. I don't mean to offend anyone - Thanks for listening!
