I scaled down plans for an Index 3 from RCGroups to 50% of the original size, puts it at ~15.5" wingspan. So far I've got most of the foam cut, except for the airbrakes and SFG's. I'm not sure if either will be necessary at this size, so I'll add them later if needed.

Here's a picture with my mustang for size reference:

Wing area looks bigger, even though the span is a bit shorter. The tail moment is MUCH longer, and the control surfaces are all substantially bigger as well.

I should have the airframe all glued together tonight hopefully, then I'll see how much carbon bracing it really needs.

I'm on the hunt for a used AR6400, extra linear servo, and mustang or sukhoi gearbox/motor for this if anyone happens to have anything laying around?

There's very minimal carbon bracing (1mm rod). Two rods per wing side, criss-crossed. It seems much stiffer than the mustang airframe, and has MUCH larger control surfaces. Should be very maneuverable, and hopefully slow flying!

As it sits, the airframe weighs in at 11g assembled. I'm still hoping it comes in under 30g AUW.

If it works out, I've got plenty of foam for a second(and possibly third) airframe, so I'll have to make another one to airbrush up nicer.
