Ditto on the "Rubber heater hose from your local auto parts store".

Offers excellent shock absorption on a strong kick back, and you'll cut up the rubber before damaging a prop.

Re: Chicken Stick Replacement Tubing

I use compressed air hose over a piece of copper tubing about 8 in long. The air hose has nice thick wall and does not harm the props . It can also be slightly curved for easier use.

Or you could buy a paint roller.

Re: Chicken Stick Replacement Tubing

Old scraps of garden hose work well too.

You can use a heat gun to soften the hose to allow it to slip on more easily

Re: Chicken Stick Replacement Tubing

head to home depot, lowes, rona etc with the stick and find one foot of clear flexible water tubing to slip over the existing dowel. Perhaps grab enough to replace it a few years down the road. There is also reinforced water line that is a bit tougher yet wont nick props in use.
