Having Mike and Mike to add to the judging matrix was great and I think Glen practically lived under the judging tent the whole weekend. He was out there way more than I was.
Rick,

Thanks for the update. Like I said I was stuck inthe hut all weekend. I really missed Val and Cliff this time. NOT just because of the scoring.

Well I'll see All-YA-ALL in a week in Chatham.

Bill stop messing around and take Jims generous offer and get back in the air. Summer's going by.

Thanks to those contestants that showed up and helped pout to. I think we mayhave been overtaxing Don and Rick to much but they are both troopers and good friends.

Bill my offer still stands to breakin my new DA100L for me if you want to get back in the air this weekend!
Jim - it became very clear to me that you cannot run these contests by yourself. I was glad to help in some small way. For sure if you had someone to do the scoring that would have freed you up to run the lines and judges the way I did. Really the guys all cooperated and made my job easy, everyone did what I asked and no one complained. That made the task so much easier.

I will see as I go thru next week whether my DA will get turned around in time. If not looking good by next weekend I will be calling you for that 100L

Dennis - Yeah it has been a rough year already. Broke the touch screen on my 14MZ and had to send that back to Futaba for repair. The DA100 on my orginal AW 260 started acting up and I sent that one south a week before the Flying Tigers crash. Now the other DA100 is on its way to Tucson. And I am down an airplane with nothing flyable competition wise at the moment. The only guys getting rich this year are the UPS delivery guys as I seem to be sending everything I own back to the US to be repaired. Never had a year like this, let's hope it gets a lot better soon and I see many of you in Sudbury.

In any case, I have had several back and forth exchanges with AW today and I think we have reached a very reasonable deal on a replacement airplane. Yup, not getting it for free but never expected to. This is an inherently risky business and I will probably never know what exactly caused the tail to snap. AW has come forward and offered to sell me a replacement at a significant cost reduction and I believe it is a fair offer under the circumstances. All I need to know now is whether the DA100 can be repaired or rebuilt such that I will have an engine for the replacement plane.
Well Bill, I'm really glad that everything worked out OK for you. The fact that Aeroworks stepped up to the plate and worked it out with you definitely speaks well for them. I have a yellow 50cc Aeroworks 260 that Is my favourite airframe and I was thinking of getting another. It's nice to know that they stand behind their products.

Yup, I think they have been fair, took a bit of prodding but in the end I think they are trying to look after me. Better go over that plane good ! Thanks for your kind offer of flying your plane on the weekend. See you soon I hope.
