Re: Nano CPX - First Impressions...

Did some more upgrades to my Cpx so now have Micro Heli Swash, Blade Grips, alloy main rotor Hub, Tail Motor, Asteroid brushless kit, sold carbon boom, Air Time Skids and V911 Canopy with a mod to the frame add carbon Canopy posts. This this us almost indestructible now! Believe me.. I've crashed it hard a hundred times at least. Still bend the feathering shaft once in a while, but that's about it. Happy Flying! Steve

Ok, gotta share this..a MUST upgrade for the new NanoCPX..

The amazing MicroHeli all metal swash with anti rotation bracket !

I ordered this as I broke a ball connection on the original swash and figured since I have yet to throw a blade control link ( unlike the MCpX ) I ordered one from RotorQuest....

Wow is all I can say, smother cyclic controll and response... if there was anything I would replace on this heli would be the swash with ant-rotation bracket ( bracket mounts behind the elevator servo and you simply clip off the original plastic one ) ... besides that some better landing skids...other than that , this has got to be hands down the best little microheli I have owned..durable, fun and flys in moderate wind with the heavier bullet blades just great !!

Re: Nano CPX - First Impressions...

Got my Fbl100 back running. I thought the feathering shaft was bent but the only real damage was the servo gear and the blades got banged up. I've already slammed it into the concrete a few times and myself once, tough little bugger.

One other tip if it hasn't been mentioned before is to loosen the antenna wire off (ie. unwind it a bit) of the canopy pin. My first 3-in-1 had to be replaced because the antenna's solder joint got yanked around too much with each (oops) crash. Never had that problem with my mCPX, but the Nano's wire seems really snug from the board to the canopy pin.... there's no give.

Arrgghhh! It's happening again and I DID loosen the wire off.

Anyone else having troubles with the antenna or where the 3-in-1 loses bind momentarily and jump in and out of failsafe mode?

Puts a damper on it

Re: Nano CPX - First Impressions...

This is my bone stock nano except for a Hyperion 160 battery that's gone a little soft already after leaving it charged up all the time. I've got another one waiting for the mild brushless upgrade to arrive but I want to have two for indoor nights just in case.
I picked up the heli at the end of the video to show it is not a brushless upgrade in there, stock is fine on this heli, the brushless upgrade will be good mostly just for longevity of the motor. The stock one as mentioned previously in this thread does wear out. This one has about 20 flights on it.
Nice thing about it is it does less damage to the walls when I crash. The wife will be happier

Re: Nano CPX - First Impressions...

Thanks Brian I could use an extra feathering shaft now if I can find a heli that uses the same servos as the HK100 I'll be back in business.

That little heli takes a beating but full speed into an overhead heater and a thirty foot drop onto a concrete floor was a little more than it could handle. I bent the feathering shaft, dented the main blades and broke a servo gear in half the landing gear was already broken from a few crashes earlier. No other heli I've had has taken so much abuse and was still able to fly.
Yup! Mine was very tough as well. I have a feathering shaft here - pm me your address and I'll drop it in the mail for you. I went through several sets of landing gear - use the MCPx ones. Same with the main blades. Not sure if you can use the MCPx servos or servo parts though.

I have since sold mine and replaced it with the Nano - not sure I made a step up or not. They are very similar though.
