John

You wouldn't happen to be talking about Don Schnurr that is the Aircraft Mechanic. That man is my father in law. 69yrs young, just had 6 bypass surgery 2 months ago and wondering when he can get back to work. Still pulling wrenches. Now he can tell you some stories about flying. I think he has worked on planes from one end of Canada to the other end. North south east and west. Rebuilt a plane in his back yard while he was recovering from a heart attack when he was 35 or something.

Re: Machinist work

Just drove out to 'toon town from High River Monday and back today. My eyes have those little spirals in them from watching the snow drift across the road!!

Yup: I don't mind the hot, I don't mind the cold, but that wind has gotta go!

Yorkton must breed multitalented people! There's an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer there that can do anything. He's been in the business so long he even worked on Mosquitos after the war. Does everything from structural, to welding, to fabric and in his spare time builds houses, overhauls auto transmissions, fixes cars, tans leather, makes saddles, plays several instruments, hunts, does taxidermy .................. you get the picture.

And he'd give the shirt off his back to help you out.

I think signal lights are a option at the dealer aren't they. I am pretty sure I seen a 2010 Chevy use a signal light just the other day.. Caused a 9 car pile up. Nobody new what was going on.

They held auditions here for Canada's worst driver, I figure they could do at least 10 seasons here, Easy. Just as I heard it on the radio I was at Mark's Works Warehouse and watched a guy drive right into one of those big yellow concrete pillars for the light pole. Then he tried to back up and drive away. All I could do was laugh and say there is the first contestant.

If you can drive here you can drive anywhere. Stop on green, go on red, swing wide left to turn right into your driveway. I swear they all drive a semi or something in their past life.

Then just last summer the city got stupid and put bike lanes in with traffic and called them shared bike/vehicle lanes. I take the sidewalk or the front lawns on my bike and if people don't like that so be it. I would feel safer driving a bike in New York.

I can just see it. Jack A$$ "4" filmed and produced in Yorkton SK! At least you wouldn't have to worry about signal lights on the truck, those are optional in Yorkton (or anywhere else in SK for that matter), aren't they?

Re: Machinist work

Last thing I just tackled was putting a set of All season tracks on a Mini Japanes Truck.. They showed up in the back of the truck, some metal brackets and no instructions. The kit came from Quebec and boy was it tough to try and figure this kit out when the company doesn't have anyone who speaks good english. Me and the guy in Quebec had some good laughs on the phone and finally figured it out . In the end it was sure a blast to see what one of those trucks could go through with tracks. I could make Jack A$$ part 4 with this truck. Of course right away I was already looking at fitting a turbo on the engine for some more jam. It can be done just to get guys to do it is another story. The same motor is used in Arctic Cat sleds a few years back.

What tree , Need to be quick with the welder so you son't melt the Foam or catch the wood on fire. I have been looking into one of those cold flameless welders for the RC side of things. LoL
