Re: New Spectrum TX ? Good Choice I purchased the 7 because it came with the 3 receivers, I have already installed 2 of them and used up 7 memory slots. After using mine for a few months I do not know why I did not make the purchase sooner, great radios and lots of Bind and Fly options out there. When I bought mine a few months ago it needed a software update. you might want to look into that and there is also a few pre set setup files for certain planes and helicopter's you can download and install. |

You can charge the pack (outside the transmitter) in about an hour at 1C (4A) with a good LiPo charger using an adapter. I use a similar harness and it works great, no issues. http://rcflightstore.com/product_inf...33c769cc222815 http://www.rotorquest.com/product_in...ducts_id=97633 |

The DX7s and DX8 use the same optional LiPo and the LiPo are chargable using the radio charger. But for safety you must not forget to change the program to LiPo mode and vice versa if you use 2 different type of batteries. But the initial LiPo can take 30 hours using the radio charger. |

Re: New Spectrum TX ? My 2 cents: I was deciding between the DX7s and the DX8, and I ended up going with the DX8 simply because of the price between getting the telemetry module, the receivers weren't a big deal for me because I use orange rx's on cheaper planes, so saving money on buying the telemetry module separately enticed me to get it with the DX8, plus it will save me from wanting to upgrade again down the road since the DX8 is probably the best radio you can get when flying airplanes in my opinion. The DX10 or 18 are usually for hardcore pilots with hardcore airplanes, something I won't need for years to come so the DX8 seemed like the better choice to give me all the features I would need for the time being. The backlight is a great plus, along with the 3 position switches, comes in handy for me since I wanted to move up to FPV and the knob and switches work great for that. EDIT: The transmitter battery pack is also amazing, I got mine off eBay for cheap, not the Spektrum or Turnigy but a cheaper brand but it's been months since I've had to charge it. Also, you may not use all the features right away but once you slowly learn everything it can do, you'll probably use all the features you can since it makes flying a much more smoother experience, however since I jumped from the DX6 to DX8, I can't comment on the DX7s, all I can say is I'm glad I went for the DX8 since I won't regret not upgrading to the best radio offered to us park fliers, and can easily be used for larger planes! |
