Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread This layout was suggested elsewhere and I think it has a lot of merit. There'd be no need for vertical separation. I think it still needs a bit of separation between the aileron servos to make room for the tail cables. I'll make a cardboard mock up as soon as I get time. Cheers |

Thank you for that suggestion, I never thought about vertical separation of the rudder and elevator cables. Having taken a look at my plane I'm sure I can raise one of the two tail surface servos. Cheers Glen, Thanks for those pointers they are something else I'll have to keep in mind. ps I will be using pulleys for my tail servos |

One thing (which is probably quite trivial) about spreading apart the aileron servos as you suggest is that this positions the pushrods so they penetrate the fuselage at a flatter angle and I think this would require elongated holes for a straight run, and that it would also be harder to estimate where to cut, a task that I really hate doing FWIW I listened to some folks on RCG and am doing the ailerons direct with carbon tubing stiffeners and no sleeves. Soon, real soon, LOL |

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread Is there any clearance height wise. Can you lift the tail servo up some with a spacer? |

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread On the mini dart 2 by using the standard supplied servo tray this causes the two pull cables for the tail surfaces to rub against the aileron servo arms. So I am toying with the idea of separating each aileron servo 2mm out of centre to give a 4mm gap to make it easier for the pull cables to pass. I'm sure there'll still be room for aileron servo arms to clear the fuselage sides. So apart from a minor change in geometry what you guys think, good idea or bad? First pic is my cardboard mock up of the new servo tray with the supplied one. Other puc is just an internet grab showing the problem with pull cables. |

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread They are a challenge to get the radio gear in, and even a bigger challenge to do it nice! |

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread Dennis, Thanks for the link, there are some options there. Once I get my servo tray position finalized I'll take the fuselage into GH and test fit a lipo with the Rx. Cheers |

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread I see your local Great Hobbies store has several different name brand 500 to 600 mah single cell lipos in stock for around the 13.00 dollar range. https://www.greathobbies.com/product...id=GEA6001S45J |

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread Daren, Thanks, I'm hoping that if I de-case my spare AR6610T it will fit. It would be nice to have vario and altitude call outs. I don't really want to buy an AR410 unless I absolutely have to. I might have a Lemon 6 ch laying around as well if my memory serves me. I'll check out banggood as well for lipos. Cheers |
