I think this subject has just been covered here:

https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=118685

where US senate just passed a resolution that states recreational RC model aircraft are exempt from the UAV laws....

Re: U.S. Senate Passes "Special Rule for Model Aircraft"

I think it was a good move; to separate legislation for UAV's from recreational RC aircraft.

Face it, UAV laws are coming and are necessary. Giving the model aircraft community an "out" from these laws is a good thing.

Re: U.S. Senate Passes "Special Rule for Model Aircraft"

Well, I fly a plane, it is 2 hrs from a MAAC field, and I have a place to fly at a private field. I know I should support the org, but not right now. I am sure the same is felt in the US but I would expect a higher enrollment due to pop.

Why does someone always want to kill the fun

At least this is a step in the right direction, but I can see that this will soon be so regulated that the fun will be gone anyway. I will enjoy it while I can
