Yes, that is what I believe it is....silver solder. I did end up utilizing a micro torch Ha

On many applications where the unit produces a lot of heat silver solder is used, try the micro torch. On the other hand if you use regular solder to make the connection the unit could generate enough heat to unsolder it.

Make sure it's not acid core that's usually found in the plumbing section. Resin core is what you want. CTC carries it, Also The Source.

Yeah, was kinda thinking the same thing. That is the type found in the plumbing section normally? correct?

I read and found out the hard way, that HK uses leadfree solder on a lot of their stuff. I found, as said above, tinning it with good old lead type fluxcore makes life a lot easier.

It's often very difficult to get solder to flow after it's been applied and sitting for some time. I find adding some fresh solder to the cold joint makes things flow and desolders a joint almost immediately. This has always worked for me.
