Re: B-29 & Bell X1 Project The fun fly was a great success. The B-29 & X-1 performed flawlessly. Both models flew well, the release was very much like the real scale & they both made perfect field landings. I am looking for any video that might be available to post. I will update later... |

Re: B-29 & Bell X1 Project Ken, yes we need to perfect the launch and fly technique of the X-1. The B-29 has mucho power and can get us up to flying speed of the X-1 without too much effort. The trick will be making sure we have all the "Steps" in place to be successful, you will see what I mean when you see them coupled. A soft landing area will be essential until we get the landing speed and procedure sorted out.. I would be more than happy to share the plans with anyone who would like to join in. There will be some specific drop hook, fuse diameter, CofG & weight requirements... Probably in the next month we should get together to start planning. |
