Re: Minimm Transmitter voltage?

Yep, more than enough. It's more to protect the integrity of the batt.

Re: Minimm Transmitter voltage?

Thanks! Is there still enough juice to land safely when the alarm is first activated?

Re: Minimm Transmitter voltage?

That's the low voltage alarm for nimh batts. Just time to recharge. When you switch over to lipo, you reprogram it in the trans and it will show 6.4 volts to alarm and time to recharge. Hope this helps.

Re: Minimm Transmitter voltage?

Thanks again for all the helpful information....I have ordered the battery pack you suggested Norm, and have also put my name on the waiting list at HK for the lipo equivilant.....I'll give them both a try when I can....in the meantime I found that the radio has an auto alarm for 4.3 v...waiting on an answer from Spectrum on that one! Looks like I'm be watching the TX voltage Very Closely for the forseeable future!
Thanks again, guys!

Re: Minimm Transmitter voltage?

I use the dx8 but it's the same charge/batt system as the 7s. As you probably know, the charger is built into the trans. My nimh batt that came with the radio lasted about 3 months before it crapped out. I put in the HK lipo and never looked back. There are electronics in the batt. pack. A batt balancer and, if you accidently left the trans on, the power is shut off to protect the batt when it gets down to 2.4 volts per cell if I remember right. I get about a month and a half run time conservatively. What plugs into the side of the trans is only the power supply as the charger is built into the trans. The light on the trans goes out when the lipo is charged after about 7 hr. charge time. As said above, you have to change the programming in the trans from nimh to lipo. Hope this helps.

Backordered again at the moment. you should leave your email so you know when they are back in stock. they go out of stock pretty quick.

Dx8 pack also fits the dx7s.

Re: Minimm Transmitter voltage?

Gord in my DX8 tx i use Eneloop nimh batteries they keep a really good charge and when they have been stored they are known after one year still showing 70% of their charge. They are much safer than lipos! and pack a good punch. You can order them from ElectroDynamics out of michigan.Have them shipped USPS will come right to your door.I use the 4 cell pack for tx and 5 cell packs for Rx.They have the 4 cell pack for DX8 with the connector i believe the 7s Tx is the same.

Re: Minimm Transmitter voltage?

Fellows, thanks for all the helpful input...I think I'll check out HK's lipo packs for my Spectrum 7s.....running out of juice while less than 3 mistakes high would not 'make my day!' Does anyone know the item # by any chance?
Thanks, Gord

Re: Minimm Transmitter voltage?

I have flown with my Hitec Optic 6 TXs' till the alarm went off (8.7v) with the stock 600Nicads installed.....let me tell you that you had better get down fast as there was next to no reserve left in the pack. Never let them get that low again, after that I stopped at 9.5v.

I have since switched over to 1800mah Life TX packs and can now fly all day without a worry. I fly till the voltage reaches about 9.3v (3.1 v/cell) and then stop.
