That's the brute power of the DLE30.

Started on the panel lines again. If you recall, I clear coated the bottom with Future floor wax. Once thats completly dried,(24hrs) I thinned some dark grey Tamiya acylic paint about 80% water/20% paint and smeared it over all the panel lines. About 1 hr later when the paint has dried, I wet sanded it off very gently with 400wet paper. The floor was acts as a barrier so that your not sanding off the original paint that you worked so hard to spray on. Whats left over is the dark grey inside the panel lines. You can see the diffrence it makes when compared to the other wing. I only sanded the wing area to the right of the gear so far. Its not hard to do and realy brings the panel lines to life.

Here's the Maiden.

Even though I was feeding in right rudder, it still wanted to go left, so I let it. I suspect that one of the struts turned out on the somewhat bumpy grass.
I need to figure out the throttle throws. Seems all the power is in the lower half of the stick. This made the throttle extreemly sensitive. I was very nervous to say the least, with about 100 people behind me

Thanks Brad! for posting the vid

The Future is Clear

The next step is dual purpose. I clear coated the bottom of the wing with Future Floorwax. I have no intentions of making this plane a Gloss finished AC. This is all part of the Weathering Technice. But! As I mentioned.. Ill be maidening it this weekend, and here the clear coat acts to protect the flat paint from getting any 2stroke oil on it. If theres a litle it wont matter, but Id like to minimize the problem.

Your going to have to wait till after the maiden before you see the purpose of the clearcoat

Looks like ill be maidening this thing much sooner than planned. There's a MaidenFest going on this weekend and so I had to get everything flight ready for the big day. I finnaly got around to checking the CG. I have to tell you, I was a litle nervous knowing that big DLE30cc was up front. To my suprise, It balanced perfectly!! No batteries mind you, but one will go infront of the wing and the other just behind the wing spar, so it should work out nicely.

Now I really excited to get this bird in the air. Common Maidenfest

Will check the AUW soon
