Re: Give RC flying a free try

Anyone near Burlington ONT. can come fly one of our 2 club trainers with one of our instructors using a buddybox.
BRCM.ORG has our details!
Everyone welcome.

Re: Give RC flying a free try

If there are any beginners wanting to get some stick time, I'm available to give a minimum of 30 minutes of flight training. You will be flying my LT-40 so you don't have to bring anything. There are 14,600 public schools in Canada. You could arrange to fly indoors once I have all but finished teaching how to fly. No strings. This offer is at your convenience. My flying field is 3 miles from my house and Lockport, NY is 30 miles from the Canadian border.

Cheers

Re: Give RC flying a free try

Well, it's been almost a year since my last post, but the offer is to give anyone 60 minutes of RC flying experience. One would think that hobby shop owners would take advantage of this offer...but no joy. Now with all of the crap that's going on with TC/NAV and the ever-decreasing membership numbers, it could very well be a waste of time for anyone to come to Lockport, NY to learn to fly ASAP and at no cost and no need to jump through all the hoops that have been set up by the powers that be. The solution could very well be going to the 14,600 Canadian public schools and the S.T.E.M. programs. But someone would have to come to Lockport, NY for personal hands-on experience. No charge and no need for MAAC or AMA membership for the opportunity of a lifetime. Plan A hasn't worked, so think of this offer as plan B. Just the cost of travel expenses. https://www.facebook.com/clarence.ragland.5

Cheers

Re: Give RC flying a free try

I'm still available to give anyone up to 60 minutes of RC flight instruction. I have several trainers ready to go. No need for AMA or MAAC insurance. Just send me an email when you're ready. It's at your convenience.

We have a beautiful wide-open flying field that's seldom used.

Re: Give RC flying a free try

This is why I have no problem offering the public the opportunity to experience RC flying. It's very easy, fun and safe for me to do so. Hopefully, see you next year.
BTW, I sent this to the FAA and got a reply. Here's hoping.

The RT eliminates the problems associated with buddy-box training.

No control reversal problems
Hours per flight session as opposed to 6-10 minutes
Landing experience within 20 minutes of first ever learning experience
No problem teaching in 15-20 mph winds
Can train on simulator anywhere, anytime all year
All students learn at a very rapid pace
Can do many takeoff and landing drills ASAP
Can easily teach others to use this method
Extremely productive marketing tool
Rapid progress from trainer to advanced aircraft
Use with or without buddy-box
Easy to learn
The RT should be a flight training safety standard

No, it's not the pass-the-box method

What a nice place as a testing ground. Hope next year won't let us down..

When/if the borders ever reopen, here's your chance to increase sales and the only cost is the price of travel to my area. Send an employee to me so I can at least demonstrate how to attract more customers for your business. Just trying to give back to the hobby/sport. No strings. Not a buy one and get one free..but pay an extra charge thing. lol Don't listen to the naysayers. This offer has been around for at least one decade.

Re: Give RC flying a free try

I'm sure there are a few cynics who question what I'm trying to accomplish. The only thing that I would like in return for giving free RC flying experience is whoever comes to me, just relay what you have learned to others. This is not a prerequisite just hoping to pass this method on to others. It seems that the only people who have a problem with what I'm doing is those who already know how to fly.

Who knows? There might be someone who is allowed to cross the border. She or he could have essential business and have access to the US. Where there is a will, there's a way. lol
