Looks fantastic Jason. Can you pm me the specs you used for the TAMS pipe if you have time. I am considering an upgrade to my pipe and just curious what you used.

What did she weigh in at?

Beautiful jet Jay, I can't wait to see it this year and you have it set up fantastic with all the best stuff! Been flying my new Jeti in CARF Flash this season and i can't get over how good this radio is.
Today tried out the turbine telemetry for the first time. Was excellent to get a low fuel warning when time to land. Also used the accelerometer to get a fuel read out or GPS read out anytime you want by simply tilting the Tx a bit! Cool stuff.

Re: Skymaster 1/6th scale F-16 build

Well today the F16 finally made some noise.

Last night I finally finished off the jet. its been a lot of work and Ive taken great care to do things properly with good quality stuff so it will be a headache free model from the start. (hopefully) lol

Today I brought it out to the field for some engine testing, and some taxi tests. and all i can say is wow haha. The P200 really rockets this thing down the runway. Now I just have to wait for a day when I can make it up to wingham to finally maiden this bird.

Ive put a few Telemetry sensors on board. One translates the Jetcat signal to a JETI ex telemetry format. This allows me to see all the turbine values on my radio. great to be able to see the pump voltage and turbine RPM so I can detect a flame out as soon as one happens. Especially helpful when flying with other jets. Other perimeters I can monitor are EGT, Fuel level remaining in tank, ECU voltage, etc. I also added a GPS sensor to use for speed and altitude. and finally I installed a air pressure sensor. so If I have a drop in pressure i can set an alarm to notify me of the problem.

For a Pipe I Ordered a custom TAM jets unit. made to order for the P200 in this bird.

I also bit the bullet and installed a Demon cortex 3 axis Gyro. Ive heard nothing but great things on these so Im looking forward to getting it airborne to try it out.

here are some pics from today. Ill update with some more and some video when I get it to wingham and maiden it.

Haha. Good eye Steve. It's actually to make cleaning or replacing the fuel filter easy. I can leave the fittings on and still be able to un screw the top of the filter.

I suppose it could be a place for air to enter the system. But this is a pressure line as oppose to sucking fuel so I figured the chances are pretty slim.

Hey Jason

in pic 9, what is with the festo fitting in the middle of the line from the filter to the solenoid for? Can't you run a solid piece of tubing or is it a reducer?

Re: Skymaster 1/6th scale F-16 build

Its been awhile since my last post. Ive been quite busy with work and also starting my other build over the past couple weeks

https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=304554

but since the last post Ive got quite a few things done.

first thing was as Doug said. I also made a "dog house" type thing to enclose the front wheel to keep debris and turbulent air outside of the fuse.

Then I plumbed the fuel tanks and installed them for the final time. I Hysoled 3 mounts to each tank that match up to some hard wood I hysoled in the fuse. Everything bolts in and is removable to make servicing easy. I also hysoled in some light ply on the bottom of the fuse to reinforce it enough to make the vent solid.

once the tanks were installed I plumbed the fuel lines. Making the 2 saddle tanks secondary tanks which feed into the main top tank which feeds the Bubble trap.

Things are really coming together and I'm really happy with how it has progressed. Im currently working on the accessory board. I've got the valves for fuel and propane installed. the ecu as well as the fuel pump and filter mounted vertically to prevent any spots for bubbles to sit in the system.

Basically all that's left is to order and install my tam jets pipe. Install the belly fins and mount the tail cone.

after that I can install the turbine for the final time and then do a balance check to see where I'm going to end up mounting the 3 batteries.

I still have to decide where I can mount the pitot tube on this bird. I do like having that to have consistent approaches for the shorter grass strips I plan to be occasionally flying this on
