Re: Taranis transmitter replacement battery suggestions

Sorry ... You are right. Thanks for catching it. Made the correction.

It is the battery that is now part of the stock HK package.

Re: Taranis transmitter replacement battery suggestions

NiMH would be dead within 3 flights for me. At a minium I am powering my goggles also from the taranis battery, sometimes UHF too.

I use two different batteries in my Taranis:

this 2650mah 1C will give you the most endurance

This 2500mah 5C battery will give you great endurance PLUS good power for accessories. I found it necessary to power my ThomasScherrer 3 watt UHF module.

Should solder on a 2S plug to the battery, though you can get away with a servo plug I think as long as you match the oem + and - terminals

My Taranis battery also powers my goggles on all flights. But still needs a charge at least once every other flying day.

I also tried a Lipo ... but the NiCD gives me hours for time at the field and means I don't take it out of the case to charge, just plug it in when I get home.

I carry the stock battery fully charged in the case but have never even come close to using it.

As a backup just about any 800mah and under size, 2cell lipo will fit in the compartment and, if it has the standard jst-xh balance plug, that plug is a direct fit to the jack inside the Taranis battery compartment.... just don't use the built in charging system for the lipo.

good luck,

Michael

Re: Taranis transmitter replacement battery suggestions

Just poking around I see some of the discussion comments below this battery the users are saying they plug it right into the Taranis using the balance plug.
