And thank you as well Brian. Once I see it I'll have more details and if I am unsure of it's value I'll be back on the thread.

Thanks Mike! So the seller is in the ballpark with his ask of $350 OBO. I'll check on the mast and I'll figger on $50 each for new servoes for a boat that size.

Was the boat that you bought factory built or well crafted homebuilt?

The boat is 60" long, the sails are Mylar with main & jib and the boat stands 8-1/2 feet keel to tip of mast.

No motor. He did mention drum / winch type servoes but couldn't tell me how many other than one for the mainsail and one for the rudder.

That's about all I know so far. Maybe look at it this week.

Are we up to $25???? :-0
LOL The price has gone up considerably.

I bought one similar in size with Mylar sails & two winch servos that for $350 but hard to say without seeing it or knowing the servo numbers. Mine has an aluminum mast, Hitec winch servos and one Futaba rudder servo.

A carbon fibre mast is more costly & different brand servos have different prices.

There is a class called Infinity-54 but it's 54" long not 60.
They were or are made by GRP Model Yachts, and are gel coated fiberglass hulls not glass over wood. I saw a couple used ones that sold around $600.
I couldn't find any other sanctioned classes that fit those dimensions.
Can you get a mfg name or a pic.?

What about the specifications of the boat ????????????????????????????

Is it a quarter metre or one metre in length?

What kind of sails ? How many sails ?

Does it have a motor ?

Going by your description I would offer $20

Need advice pricing a sailboat

There's a local sale here which includes a sailboat complete with sails, servoes, radio, batteries and a homemade stand. I haven't seen it yet but the description of the hull is that it is made of wood and overlaid with epoxy impregnated fiberglass.

The model is a class racing design similar to an America's Cup with a square bow and raked stern - very pretty but no deck details although it looks like there may be a place where you could put them. I am lead to believe that this is a commercially built boat and would cost upwards of $1000 to buy outright but I can't find anything on the Net to confirm this.

Can anyone suggest a fair price for a used one and maybe PM their phone number so I could call for a chat?

Merry Christmas boaters,
John
