Re: Gas Shelf Life

Shell Premium isn't necessarily ethanol free, it isn't marked as such on the pumps here. Some guys here use avgas, guaranteed ethanol free.

Guys, check out this stuff from royal distributing, I found this over this past winter and used it in my sled.

It's called liquid performance, and it's there ethanol equalizer blend. They advertise it as a "game changer. stabilizing fuels for up to 3 years. Also boosts the octane as well

It's only $9 bucks for a bottle that can treat 40 gallons, or they have $4 bottles to treat 10 gallons

It's about half way down the page:

Exactly what I do. 10L premium in the van, fill the can (add 20L), stop. Start the pump again on regular, finish filling the van. Hate to see the hose full of premium for the next guy, ha-ha.

TomGSMackay Buy premium from a reputable source, mix it and whatever is left after the season? Use it to start the end of year bonfire. Stabilizer helps, as does keeping the fuel in a tightly sealed jerry can, out of the sunlight.
UV quickly accelerates evaporation of the higher gases (heptane) in gasoline and crystallizes the stabilizers and octane. Keep it cool and sealed, it'll last 4-5 months mixed.

Re: Gas Shelf Life

Get Shell premium or unmarked boat gas which does not have ethanol.
(Marked clearly on our local pumps)
