Re: Help needed with "old timer" collection I would have a group of guys from the local club evaluate the stuff. There is a possibility that there is quite a valuable item for various reasons in that collection. The best return our club widows got was when the club put on an auction at the house and the club got 20% of the sale price. A properly advertised auction will draw members from several clubs around the area. Do not let anyone buy anything before the auction!!! A lot of guys will try to rip you off. After what will not sell at the club meeting, just dump in the dumpster or give away. |

Re: Help needed with "old timer" collection Thanks Michael. I did approach KMAC on a couple of occasions some time ago, but they have not gotten back to me. Truthfully I am not as interested in the price as I am in seeing them go somewhere they would be appreciated. I would however prefer that they went as a package. |

Re: Help needed with "old timer" collection Melody, Condolences. The pictures show some interesting and distinctive models that would likely have some appeal. A couple of suggestions: Since the collection is located in the Keswick area, contact the Keswick Model Aircraft Club for some possible face to face help in helping in putting values to the models and supplies. http://keswickmac.ca/contact-us/ There are a few individuals who post here who do buy 'complete r/c estates' and then resell the items in smaller parcels or individually. Those people will eventually notice your post but you may want to move to the classifieds under the page "other" with a title something along the lines of "help need with r/c estate". More value will be realized if the items can be offered for sale as smaller parcels and the models individuals but I understand that turning over the estate to someone to do an end disposition will be less hassle. I am confident that you will find people who will give reasonable estimates for the value of the items. My guess is that the engines and supplies would have the most value. good luck, |

Help needed with "old timer" collection Hello - I live in Keswick, Ontario and due to a death in family I have a few old RC aircraft with 4-stroke engines and a quantity of related items such as coverings, plans, and a quantity of balsa wood. I notice that I cannot merely post a "best offer" classified, but I don't really know where to begin to set a reasonable price for the package as a whole. I have attached some pictures of the aircraft. Can anyone help? |
