Re: Super Tigre 2000 piston

Thanks everyone. I sent an email to service center couple days ago but have not heard back as yet.May have to check if parts can be interchanged. I have several ST parts listings that came with the motors and ST has to be one of the most confusing with their parts. Three different sheets and three different parts #s for the piston. One says 20/25 same, next one shows different for each motor, third has totally different parts numbers again. Hope service dept answers soon!!!

Re: Super Tigre 2000 piston

Years ago I had the 20cc and just short on power . Did some research and the 25cc was many times better power and fuel consumption wise and got it. Never sorry I did. Burned the same amount of fuel but produced much more power. The 32cc was another option but apparently it was a hog on fuel, according to users.

Makes sense!

The G-2000 and S-2000 parts are listed at the bottom in a group of other engines. They do show part numbers for Pistons. Hopefully they have the actual parts as well...

If I remember correctly the piston, cylinder and ring could be changed as the rest was the same.

Arnold , maybe contact the above service dept and see if that could be done if no piston is available.

Have you tried here?

RSVenture Yes that would be good if piston was just scored but it got knocked of bench and a piece broke right off piston. Stupid, stupid, stupid!! Hate to lose this engine just because of a stupid move and no replacement available.

Re: Super Tigre 2000 piston

If the piston is just scored, I would sand it smooth with 320 wet or dry sand paper. Us it wet with water or light oil. Clean and remove any carbon and score ridges from the groove and put a new ring on it. The old ring makes a good tool to clean the ring groove. You just sharpen it to a point like a chisel. Take a brake cylinder hone for a car to the cylinder.
