To answer your question about Airtronics, the North American distributor has changed to Serpent in Florida, the radio has not changed except it will now be sold under the manufacture Sanwa, the same as it is know around the world. Same great radio just a name change for North America.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me.

Is Airtronics not being sold anymore? Or is it just a name change and still sold?

I sold a Futaba 9C to the US a few years ago that had been used for years. Guy came back with the comment he could not tell it had been used. Can't say the same for my models though. Some people are the opposite of that.

If you would go for a 10 channel, I can put you into a Airtronics SD-10GS for less than $550.00 depending on the exchange rate. I have been been a rep, for Airtronics for over 30 years, and selling this great radio for over 10 years. The radio that Len is talking about was one I sold to him. You sure do not see much about problems with Airtronics on any forum. It is just like the Everyready bunny, it just keeps on going.

Re: Looking for new radio Sysytem....

Two different views and two different products. All of my latest gear didn't cost $1000 including 2 transmitters. To each his own. The majority of flyers in my area should not spend that because no matter how good the product if you let the oil and dirt accumulate ...it's just ugly!

FCC and IC. futaba, hitec, Jr, spektrum .........

Here is a good link to just one of many Taranis forums for those thinking of buying.... I am just saying " buyer be aware". Just some reading for prospective Taranis buyers and then make up your mind. Some have no issues others do .

On the left is a Taranis inside view and to the right is a Jeti inside View.

Myzee : FYI, Jeti just did an upgrade or maybe I should say added features just by a software upgrade from 16 to 24 channels , added programming for multi-quads and allowed you to run two receivers in parallel to utilize the full 24 channels. This was just a couple of major features, oops maybe I better say 3 as some will correct me....LOL..... to my knowledge they haven't had to fix or correct a thing and if they did it would have been a minor fine tune.

If you click the second picture to enlarge to the right of the lithium transmitter battery you can see the charging circuit system that controls the charging of the battery... quit more substantial than a wall charger. I can also charge thru the provided USB cable that I plug into a 12v cigarette jack in my vehicle ( while on the road) by using a $5 adapter that supplies a usb outlet.

So for under $1000 you can get started. Also forgot to mention that Jeti transmitters and receivers are FCC and IC certified for use in NA. One of the few who do.

Taranis is a great radio.
Have had my original Taranis not Plus for 2 and a half years with absolutely no problems at all.

Re: Looking for new radio Sysytem....

As a little research project (LOL) I went through a %$#&^load of threads on R/C forums. I looked at people's profiles and read what they have as their "radio of choice"

Futaba, JR, with Jeti looking like it's getting there. There was a few Taranis.
I was asking myself why? Could be pilots already have their systems before the Taranis came on the scene?

I wish there was a way I could expand my trusty Futaba 9C because I need more channels...but it ain't happening. I like the programming on that radio.
The next radio that looks like it could be the 9C's bigger brother is the 14SG.
But like I say, I have a habit of looking at Futaba as I have always used them lol
