Re: Your favorite first plane

I started easily!
My first RC airplane was HobbyZone SkyFly.
I miss her so much and I'm thinking to the new SkyFly Max

Re: Your favorite first plane

My first (successful) control line plane was a Lil' Wizard. I was 8

When I was 12 my first RC plane was a 6' Glider (Cant offhand remember the name or the mfg)
It lasted all of the 4 seconds it took my dad to toss it straight up from a running throw. Of course it came straight down .
My first successful RC a few months after that was a Ken Willard "Schoolmaster". I flew the crap out of it that summer

Re: Your favorite first plane

My first plane was a home built .049 ukie with no plans. Just did it from scratch. OK cub .049 for power.

First R/C was a Bud Barkley Cessna.

My first airplane was a Sig Cavalier. Powered by an Irvine 46.
I miss that plane.

I bet you that a World Models Clipped Wing Cub would be great with that engine.

Re: Your favorite first plane

M brother and I had a Cox P-51 Mustang for control line, with a Cox .049 in it, back in the 70's. Fun. My first R/C bird was a Hobbico Superstar 40 with a .40LA up front. That thing did and still does fly great, and is fairly aerobatic for a trainer.

Cox Spitfire C/L; 1967 in the school yard. My friends helped me start her, and then watched me crash her.
