Re: email from MAAC

I haven't read the whole thread so I apologize if I got it wrong. But I got a MAAC email referencing the auction on behalf of the Boys and Girls Club - and I got no problem with that?

Nice model, good folk doing it so back to my build .............

I've changed my mind on my original comment, SYSOP sez it was triggered in error, it was triggered in error.

(it took me three weeks and I knew this thread was here)

I got one too and immediately decided Jason's screwing up again and then simply forgot about it!

I think it is true to say that MAAC is more than satisfied with Jason,s efforts too.

Re: email from MAAC

Hello Jason,

I received one of those emails as well, and I was a bit curious about how it came about. I was not too worried, however. (It was pretty mild in my opinion).

Anyway, I just want to say thank you for all the efforts you have been putting in for last several years.

Your work is appreciated.

Cheers,

- Mike

Re: email from MAAC

I see no harm now in the mistaken email...just curiousity. In this internet world of spam, bots, money scams, etc. on our personal computers, it makes one think those mysterious emails may have some embedded evil intent. We place our privacy online with social sites and do our banking and purchasing online and then all of a sudden this email shows up disguised as being from your association and you wonder the purpose. When it was determined that Linda resolved the thing...that shoulda been the end of the thread.Mystery solved. How it got nasty legs again is beyond me.

Now that it is fessed up to be a test...we can all sleep now...and go back to building?

By the way Hi Jim and Jason...

Re: email from MAAC

Well John, my sarcasm may have been a little over the top as I did think your conspiracy theory was in jest, but also you also got a little personal towards me. Please reread your post:

You've known me long enough on this forum to know that I never get personal in my responses. I have always taken the high road. The fact of the matter is that I made a mistake when installing a custom built script I created for the MAAC site and I admitted it. It wasn’t a breach of privacy and no animals harmed during the sending of the email. No email addresses were distributed…the impact was minor other than some members received a blank email. If you would like to get more details on what exactly happened, you are entitled to as a member and I would be more than happy to explain it to you.

I explained to the organization what happened when I figured it out and apologized to the members that contacted MAAC to ask about it. It was sloppy of me and I've taken precautions to minimize the chance of it happening again.

Anyway, I meant nothing personal. I hope you have a great building season. <-- no sarcasm implied...I really do.

Jason
