Re: traxxas revo vxl brakes

It should definitely be stronger, I picked up a used revo vxl for a friend and it would almost endo if you hammered on the brakes. My old revo VXL had a different motor/esc and would front flip if you hit the brakes too hard, but the one with stock vxl motor/esc definitely didn't have weak brakes.

You might have to calibrate the throttle range on the ESC, I can't remember how to do it but the instructions should cover it.

Re: traxxas revo vxl brakes

Hey Will
thanks for the reply
There is only 3 settings on the speed controler and all offer 100 percent brakes.
I am using the 50 50 setting........guess I will mail traxxas and ask if its normal.
Maybe I'm just expecting it to be something its not........

Re: traxxas revo vxl brakes

Sounds like something isn't programmed right in the ESC, or a transmitter setting to me. Are you driving with the trigger at 50/50 or 70/30? If you switched it, did you re-calibrate the ESC afterwards?

traxxas revo vxl brakes

Hi everyone
I'm new to brushless rcs.....
I have a tmaxx 3.3 and a 1/10 summit.......
The brakes on my big trucks lock the wheels if I apply them quickly.
The revo vxl stops very poorly......its like it has one burst of brake and then lets off completly.
My question is......is this normal......and if so can I change it by buying better brushless speed controler ?
These little trucks fly I just can't see them having brakes that are that crappy.......my tmaxx and summit will endo if I stop fast enough ??????(I understand tmaxx is a differant animal with brakes)
Any thoughs or opinions welcome.
