WOW i am amazed at the quality of this thing ! i just ran through my first tank and im using 94 from chevron. i tried tuning it on my second tank and having a hard time....i dont know which needle to tune first and how to tune it. sometimes it picks up really slow and sometimes when i give throttle it bogs down and wants to stall......running at 25:1 right now. also...when im at a stand still and i give it throttle. my car seems like it doesnt engage the gears right away. it revs alittle before my car starts to move...how come? i watch videos on youtube and other peoples MT moves right away when throttle is given. |

Re: glow engine or gas engine? your ratio is to be at 25:1 25ml of oil to 1L of Gasoline. Get a separate fuel can for your truck and use premium fuel not regular, keep your regular for your weedwacker.. lol A suggestion would be use the Shell V-power 91% octane or the shell silver at 89% octane I would not drop any lower that that ! Shell fuel I find burns nice and helps keep the engine clean.. Well I hope you enjoy your new ride... Rob |

Re: glow engine or gas engine? sorry for the long reply. was in beijing and shanghai for vacation  i just ordered the redcat rampage mt for 649 shipped ! CANT WAIT TO GET IT ! one question about fuel....the manual says 25% oil and 75% gasoline....this sounds like ALOT of oil....thats like 3:1 the 2 stroke oil i got is ECHO brand for the trimmers and gas blowers. it says 50:1 but this aint no weed whacker. so what amount of oil do i need to mix ??? |

Re: glow engine or gas engine? your best to stick with your local red cat racing supplier, mine are in my next of the woods , Toronto Ontario and they still have to order them so your not step ahead... So your best to get in touch with your RCR local shop or order it direct from redcat. Cheers Rob |

From my contact i spoke to, they are expected to be back in stock within a week or so, (3 of May) Tuning is no harder than the HPI baja, its a gasoline engine so once broken in its a simpl tune im sure you would be able to do it.. breakin is nowhere like a nitro engine. Gasoline is a set and forget kind of rc.. so easy and well trouble free... top speeds are around 40mph just like pretty much any other 1/5 scale gasser,, the difference between the TT and the Dune Runner. well one is a huge buggy and the orther would be like a sand runner. more or less like comparing the Baja T and a Baja B both are nice and both have there own features, it all depends on what look your going for. I just sold my Rampage MT to a friend of mine and well he is going gaga right now, he loves the size and being that he already owns a Baja B he is amazed on the size and well how well it sounds and performs... Re: glow engine or gas engine? ok so im about to place my order for a redcat(these things are hard to find - sold out EVERYWHERE) couple questions before i order... 1. does anyone knows the top speed of the rampage TT, MT and the dune runner. 2. whats the difference between the dune runner and rampage TT ???? 3. these things are sold out everywhere ! where can i buy one ??? 4. what kind of tuning is required? is it as annoying as the nitro cars where u have to tune needle valve and low/high end fuel etc ???? |

At least from what I heard CEN racing does have a decent lineup and yes I think it would be more of a quality compared to most of the clones out there... Clones are for the ebay specials... LOL CEN has been in the RC game for some time now and from what I gather they are standing behind the product name... But If I had to choose between the CEN Matrix 5B and the REDCAT RACING Dune runner I would have to choose the RCR dune runner... not only for the looks but overall looks like to be a better build, Would be fun to have a side by side comparison. Re: glow engine or gas engine? Be careful of the "Clones". I bought a used one from a local guy. It was the King Motor Baja. It looked a lot like the HPI Baja 5B but it wasn't all the same. I started replacing a few broken parts and I had to change another 2 parts for every broken 1. The parts were so close but not the same. The King parts were also made from real cheap plastic. I ended up with a HPI 5B after about $800 in parts.  I then sold the 5B for about half of what it cost me because I replaced parts every time I took it out and I couldn't afford to run it anymore.I am going to try the CEN Racing Matrix 5T soon. It is 4X4. |
