i JGN
thank you for your interest.
I finally balanced my mosquito with 700 grams of lead with the carriages fully retracted.
I motorized it with two 4-cell ectron motors with 13x7 three-blade propeller, 4-cell 5000 50c Gens battery.
I haven't painted it but I used the oracover for the finish so as not to weigh it down too much and hopefully it flies well.
as soon as he finished he posed some photos with a video of the flight.
I thank you for your availability and I wish you great flights.

Re: 71" Brian Taylor Mosquito Build

I will have to remove the cowlings, but I believe my motors are Turnigy L5055B 600Kv units.
I originally conceived this model to have a nice scale power system, scale in terms of what you would expect a full size Mosquito to fly like. I am really pleased with the performance, but I am going to try two 6s 3300 mah batteries in place of two 4s 5000mah as electric motors always perform better using higher voltage to increase hp as opposed to using more current which increases heat. I think I swing two 14" x 7" x 3 blades on this model.

Lino, I am not sure what the all up weight of the Mossie is, but it would be in the same ballpark as yours. For this reason, I always keep "power on" all the way down to touch down. Mine is a very stable airplane which is fun to fly even in wind as it penetrates quite well.

I am considering going 6s at some point but as for now it is a great flyer!
hi
can you tell me how much your model weighs?
if it needs more weight it means that the model is flying upright now.
mine should weigh about 6kg.

Hey Glenn. How many KV are you running on your Mozzie and what props?

I am running 800KV on 4S and 14x7 props. I have the same power combo in my TF DC-3,which flies great in that config. Unfortunately, I find the Mozzie just doesn't have the same pull as the DC-3, it flies rather sluggish by comparison. Also the Mozzie is about a pound heavier than the DC-3 with a few inches shorter on the wingspan but much more wing area.

I am thinking of going to 5S on the mozzie for that reason. I'm curious to know what your power specs are.

I also tried this but it was hard to get even coverage.

Thanks.
hi
sorry my english i am with google translator.
I wanted some important information from you:
I have finished the electric mosquito 71 and now I have to balance it, unfortunately I realize that it needs 650 grams of lead at the tip to level it is this normal? weighs too much about 6 kg.
how did you do it? flies well despite the weight?
thank you

CG is really important on the Mosquito. If yours needs weight, you have to add it.

I have scratch-built a 78" Mosquito and it flies really well.
My thread for it is here:

mine comes in at 13.5lbs/6.16kg, which I have mentioned on post #194
