Re: Princeton : Spring warm up

Hey Hans, good question.

I'll start a separate thread a bit later, just to summarize what's been publicly stated in the last MAAC article, etc. and to cover what questions can be answered in time being. I'll also edit this post with a link to the new thread. In hindsight, I probably should have done that upon release of the article anyway.

To all... Please wait for that thread for info on the LOP issue, in the interest of maintaining the value in this thread on the jet rally discussion.

Thanks,
Kelly

Kelly, concerning the JWM next year in the US, can you let us know if holding a current LOP will be invalid (as in -not covered by MAAC)
Thanks, Hans

Re: Princeton : Spring warm up

The LOP program is on hold, see last MAAC magazine article for more info. Its a private subject within the committee. Based on this I will not comment any further.

Back on track with the thread now, I hope to make the spring meet next year but I'm stretched for jets at the moment. Might have an engine issue on my Hotspot, and I had an unfortunate incident with my F-16 last week. I bowed to the peer pressure from Kevin and Paul (just kidding ) and tried to fly it from my local grass strip. Early in the takeoff roll I got the nose wheel stuck in a rut and the impact did a whole bunch of fuselage damage around the nose gear and scoop area. A few formers broke loose, the seams delaminated, and there's a bunch of stress cracks... Bummer for sure, but even for an out of production jet there appears to be a few parts around. Might get lucky and have it flyable again some day...

Hey Nate
What's your hurray about the letter? Do you have an American event to attend before the start of next season? I am sure that if necessary Kelly could help you have some form of document that would give the American CD, confidence in your flying ability of jets, as I think he saw you fly at the Princeton fall rally.
If you could wait a little while, until Kelly and the committee have had some consultation time to figure this out, so we get it right.

Re: Princeton : Spring warm up

Hi Paul : I guess I will have to break down and bring the new King Ranch 350 , I just don't know If my wife will allow me to use it ?? But for sure I will need a good ride to go to the USA if only I had my letter of proficiency !

Cheers Nate .

Re: Princeton : Spring warm up

Jeez guys,

We're 6 months out! Glad to hear everyone's enthused about next year though.

Nate - u gonna buy a new truck or use someone else's this year

I'll bang it around with the guys and we'll post something.

One comment though is last year we went thru a fairly lengthy debate on dates - tried to accomodate everyone - and in the end had a fairly small turnout.

Re: Princeton : Spring warm up

Paul, Steve, Bart - when you are considering the dates for the spring warm-up, the first weekend in June in 2011 would be great, just like this year. Once again, our U.S. Memorial Day holiday is the last weekend in May next year. Hope the June date would work for you guys.

Thanks,

Bob
